As a Senior Master Sergeant in Civil Air Patrol, I can confirm this is how every PT meeting goes. Especially the part when you call a sergeant/chief a sir, it really gets annoying. I've gotten used to it at this point. I can guarantee you I've been called a sir way more times than I've been called a Sergeant.
Clorox bleach NHQ has told everyone to discontinue the shuttle run due to injuries. If your squadron is still doing it, they shouldn't be. The shuttle run has been replaced by the pacer.

When i went to the Young Marines it kicked my ass. I never spent one single day sleeping out in the filed getting bit by misqetoes in the Civil Air Patrol. I did that every single weekend in the Young Marines we ate MRE'S in the filed .

Ranking up to technical Sargent on July 4.

I remember in camp curry too it was like 10 pm and these kids sleeping next to me and my wingman kept cracking jokes and fart noises and nobody would fess up to it so the turned every light on and made every basic airman at the time do 30 push-ups. Then they screamed at us at 6am in the morning like we were going to war. But all in all it was a good experience and I’m glad it’ll always be a part of my life

You know what my senior members tell us before ANYTHING? "Remember If you get hurt, just die. Dying is less paperwork then getting hurt. Even if we go out to the parking lot for drill! At least one of them will say it!😎 I love CAP!
You know the good thing about pain ladies? it tell's you aren't dead yet . Broken bones tend to heal over time wounds will clot themselves within the hour. So there's no excuse for why you can't suck it up. So are you hurt are injured Private? Don't worry the pain will go away oventuly. I'm sure you're going to be just fine . Now shut your mouth and get back in formation cry baby.
Once my flight got lectured when we called the First Sergeant Ma'am because she was also a flight commander. On our first PT night, it started thunder storming, power went out and everything, but the school was locked so we had to just stand outside and wait for our parents to come get us. At my basic encampment, there were these two kids in my flight who would complain so badly that the flight staff would just stop answering when they raised their hands. My piece of advice to anyone who joins civil air patrol, just don't call too much attention to yourself unless it's positive. Complaining or being dumb like Horton will only make the flight staff hate your guts.
When you said to google CAP I didn’t have a reason to. I have been a cadet for a little over a year now and It is a great program. Also the Sargent not Sir thing is a very relatable experience. Yep I did that. Thankfully my squadron is more forgiving especially with new cadets, they just correct you and move on.
