    We are unable to get the bms cable set up for our SOK 48v lithium batteries to the Growatt SPF12000 DVM -US-MPV We keep getting an error code 20 Have tried numerous times and had no success. We are off grid and because the bms is not working the generator will not automatically start when the battery SOC is low. Do you have any advice that good help us get this working. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

      Hi @cynthiaclemmens2692 Working under the assumption that the SOK batteries are similar to our EG4 batteries, this may help.
      To configure the batteries, switch the dipswitch on one to master and set the others to unique addresses. Daisy chain the battery banks using short patch cables, linking the master battery to the inverter with a straight-through Cat5/6 Ethernet cable.
      Adjust the inverter's battery type to Lithium, prompting a submenu for battery protocol (contact SOK for their specific protocol). Set the protocol, wait 1-3 minutes for system check for communication, and clear the code.
      Consider rebooting the system, but check battery settings for %(BMS) or V(no BMS) to confirm successful communication.
      I hope this helps!

    What is the benefit of connecting these to the inverters? I haven’t quite figured that out.

  • @MichaelBrown-xb6pp

    Growatt 5000 manual says to only connect to the master inverter in a parallel system. You say all with the can hub. Which way is correct? My state of charge reading has been sporadically freezing at certain percentages that I believe I have proven the trouble to be with the Inverter. I'm wondering if bridging the cables to all 3 Inverters will add some redundancy and limit this error. It causes trouble because I use the dry contacts to charge my bank when it hits 25% but when it locks up it causes them to drain because the Inverters still think they are at a higher charge level. Next I will try switching to more reliable CAN communication through the Lifepower4 HUB as a last resort.

      BMS cables will only go to the master, the actual power cables will need to be shared between all 3 inverters. Master inverter will be set to Lithium battery type, L01 as sub menu protocol, all secondary inverters on USE.

      @MichaelBrown-xb6pp หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SignatureSolar Yes the BMS cables were the question but when I change the master inverter settings the slave 1 and 2 setting automatically copy. Are you saying I need to manually go and change the 2 slaves to USE “user defined” which isn’t a communicating setting? Currently I am able to read SOC on all 3 inverters

    Do you have any idea of what are the BMS protocols 1,2,3,4 ?
    Growatt do not want to share the information with me. I use 2 Elite 48V 125Ah lifepo4 batteries connected in parallel.
    Actually selected LI protocol 1, but not sure it is the best suited...

    • @SignatureSolar
      @SignatureSolar  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We recommend trying all 4 BMS settings on the batteries. If none work, we suggest reaching out to Growatt or the battery manufacturer for further assistance. These batteries aren't our own, so we don't have specific protocol information.

    We connect 3x for your Battery-pack (48V, 50Ah) in serial DC ( 144v , 50Ah) , and RS485 communication Cables .
    Then we connect the DC output to the Growatt Hybrid inverter SPH5000TL3 DC, and via CAN with an CAN-Cable also to the CAN - Plug of the Inverter.
    BUT Growatt Inverter can not communicate with YOUR Battery-Packs!??
    So, we need urgend , for YOUR application we use, technical support / connection plan scetch from your tecnical depatment.
    Also we must konw , how to set the dip-switches for each battery-pack (Master and slave settings for each Pack) ?
    Aslo we need to know , if we need special CAN cables or Special RS485 Cables????

    I notice alot of the more technical questions asked are skipped which concerns me as a customer. I imagine by now the 3000LVM+LIFEPO4 is becoming a standard setup. Is the patch cable a standard RJ45 ethernet patch cable, or is it a crossover or custom cable that has a different pinout for the RS485 protocol? What advantages are there vs just leaving the Growatt 3000LVM on default settings and just connecting power to a LifePO4?

      I have the 3000LVM 48v inverters. It took me a while to figure things out but you need your master battery with all 4 dips down. Then plug your cat5/6 cable into the bms port. If that doesn't work look into your firmware version on your inverter. I had to update mine in order to get these batteries to talk with my growatts. I'm still having some charging issues but hopefully I can get that figured out soon too.

    James, to me lo1 looks too much like laugh out loud. I'm glad I've got the Sun 2000 inverter. I haven't gotten that far with it yet. At least I finally got the Fireman's switch installed and I'm working my way back from there. Next stop will be the breaker box in the basement and from the other end I'm going through my other disconnect switch in the basement and up into my inverter. So far, so good.🐸

    hello, I hooking up a Growatt 48V 3KW LVM with those Lifepower4 batteries shown in this video. So on the inverter I should plug into the 485 port not the one marked BMS. Also what is the correct protocol for this pair. (single inverter & 2 batteries)
    program 05 LI is program 36 I assume I should be using protocol #1
    general question 2) can both batteries be hooked up without checking there voltages and they will sync up once hooked up to the solar. Or do I need to pre-charge them before using. currently don't have the standalone charger
    Thanks so much
