Cog world tour, let's go! Alcohol is your fuel, it allows you to compress spacetime for warp speed in your sleep. Your current setup looks just perfect You definitely want to keep the large genoa. If the main gaff sail is swung out far enough forward that it interferes with the genoa, you're going almost straight downwind and can furl it, as you're at hull speed anyway and the genoa is in the wind shadow. At all other points of sail it just adds vital extra speed and maneuverability. Being able to reverse your boat off a sandbank or beach quickly is a lifesaver. In storms you can just use the genoa alone to maintain speed, as the gaffs can get very dangerous.
Don't forget to take the mail everywhere you go when you're short on cash! It's good that you're making your way to Eastwind, as that's where all the heavy, really profitable stuff is.

I've put allot of hours into this, and even when compared to the other upcoming sailing games (and there are like two or three other pure sailing games), this title is still more mature in its handling and sailing methods. I never was interested in learning the tools for navigation and instead relied on maps and a coordinates tool. Trade is a little broken and dosnt really work yet, but its on the list to make it better than it currently is (it works, but supply/demand and other things are not really in the game yet). Visually I like low poly style..and I hope this remains. It is time consuming some trips take me 3 game sessions to travel...and waking up in a storm always keeps you on your toes :)

Thank you for uploading such long videos, I had the game stopped and thanks to you I have started playing it again. I like watching him play this game and the following seas. Thank you for uploading this content.

Did get my Sanbuq and got the large rudder. Had a hairy sail with it from Al Ankh out to Dragon Cliffs. Winds were in my favor for 3/4 of the trip, then it was all headwinds and storms. Ran out of hooks on the 6th day. Somehow I made it in 10 days with 1/2 a barrel of water left and 2 goat cheeses. Did give the smoker a go and the fish I smoked on the first day of the trip was still good on day 9 of the trip. Made it there in 10 days. Didn't run into any issues with mostly just eating fresh caught fish, some smoked fish, and some goat cheese. Did start the voyage from a rest in the Inn so my nutrition was in a "fixed" state. Oh, and did find that you sell rotten fish to vendors! I got like 2 ankh lions for a rotten tuna, lol.
Cog world tour is doable, did it in my last save twice. Stuck with light loads of course. Started from Aestrin with twin gaffs and a jib, switched to twin junks at dragon cliffs. Sailed to Al Ankh then back to Aestrin where I swapped the jib for a small genoa and took it around the world again. It's doable... the sailing is fun and fairly fast when calm, but hit a storm and rough seas and it goes straight nightmare mode.

God I haven't played this game since the first two months after it launched. It's nice to see content about it considering it was completely uncovered back when I played it. It was some of the navigation tools when crossing the open ocean that drove me insane to the point where I said screw it and walked away because there's no help in learning how to use them.

Personally I like running square sails, though I do always have the extra sales like you have on yours currently for when I can't get proper wind

I... I understand what you did with the ship from a game mechanic perspektive. But from a history nerd from the region they are known from, i have to say. This is no longer a Cog. Already from the start of the video. It looks more like a... Shallop. (In the beginning)
