I'll be going over the top 11 cons of Big Sky Montana, which can also apply to some other areas in Southwest Montana, like Bozeman Montana, Three Forks Montana, Ennis Montana, Livingston Montana and more. Living in Big Sky Montana isn’t always perfect! Big Sky is a beautiful place to live - but this Montana town is definitely all about that resort life. With a world-class ski resort, the Yellowstone Club, and beautiful mountain views, it's gained popularity! But with Big Sky housing costs, Big Sky elevation, and the weather in Big Sky, it isn't for everyone. Big Sky Montana cost of living is worth a second look. So we’re taking a look at the top reasons why you should not move to Montana. So, why not move to Montana? The cost of living in Big Sky, finding a home in Big Sky, jobs in Montana, the weather in Montana, what to do in Big Sky, how rural Montana is - and how isolated Big Sky is, and how Montana has changed are among the reasons.
If you’re still thinking about moving to Big Sky Montana or anywhere else in the area, be sure to get in touch! You can shoot me a text, send an email, give me a call or an email, or even set up a Zoom, and I’d be honored to help you find your place here in Southwest Montana.

Hello thanks for your video. What is rental like in and around the Bozeman or Big Sky area. I am exploring a job there

Rentals are tough for sure. Big Sky has been working on that though - the big sky community housing trust is a great resource.

Fun fact. I was born and raised in Bozeman ( I live in Billings now, due to my own hometown being unaffordable thanks to morons who watched too much "Yellowstone" and thought they somehow were invited here, and now housing is too expensive for locals to even live in their own homes)... Back when Big Sky was smaller, the Yellowstone Club came to Montana and began buying up property in Big Sky. It's ran by (take a guess...) Californians. There was a trailer park on the far outskirts of Big Sky, and the Yellowstone Club decided that these locals' houses ruined the aesthetic that they wanted for the area, so they bought out the land and gave those locals a short period of time to move their homes off the property or the homes would be bulldozed. And then they went through with it, and the locals were forced out of their generational homes. That's only part of the reason that locals hate all of you newcomers. Even you, Justin Timberlake. Lol

It's definitely been an evolution of the whole area. I was born and raised in Bozeman as well! Thank you for watching to a fellow Bozeman classmate!

New Yorker here. Happened upon this video because yeah, totally cliche, Ive watched the Yellowstone series in its entirety, including 1883, a good 4 or 5 times over. Not just because of the storyline, but the scenery, and the views, and the country life, and the whole idea of a Montana lifestyle - which for a conservative like me - the people too. You guys have a heaven on earth there. If I am ever lucky and privileged enough to make it to Montana, I would want Montana to stay as it is, and not get overdeveloped.
I cant believe how expensive it is. Friggin investors buying up all the land.
You folks need to organize, and get rid of the investors. We have such a "thing of ours" here in NYC that addresses problems. You could take some cues from "Yellowstone" too - that ditch across the border into Wyoming. 😉

You do not want to move here! Take it from a 19 year resident.

I’m sorry you’ve had a negative experience in Big Sky. I know the growth has been challenging for many. The weather isn’t for everyone either! Thank you for watching. I’d love to hear what it is that makes you tell people not to move here, also!
