P.s I’m interested in SALT and deffo going to pursue that after this degree haha
I just discovered this channel. I am a speech and language therapy student. I was looking for channels that were speech therapy and that attracted it like vlogs. Your channel is so cute and I enjoy watching it. I hope to graduate from college and become a therapist like you. I’m looking forward to it..
I'm so glad you're back! I'm currently in my 1st year of my MSc and your videos were so helpful when I was deciding whether or not to go down this path - and I'm so glad I did ♥
i graduated from psych too and i'm starting my Master of Speech Path in Aus next month, and your vids are so good to have on in the background and learn from! So glad to see new content :)
Ahh I’m so glad you’re back, I love your videos and I’m so excited for what’s in store for this channel!! I applied for the BSc in Speech and Language Therapy at City this year, hopefully it goes well :)
@@hallie1715 ooh I’ll check that out thank you!!! I’ve sat my exam; so I’m hoping for a pass 🤞🏼. It’s just quite difficult this year around, as we are the first year to memorise the IPA chart by heart!!! Alongside diphthongs, monothongs, vowels ect ect
@@aaishachowdhury8227 ah! hope it went okay :( it’s horrible!!! Is yours negatively marked too?! 💞 I feel like we need to create a support group for IPA!!

Hi Emma! Just discovered your channel and I am so glad that there are people up there showing insights about our job! I am a speech and language therapist from a foreign country living in the uk the last few years and I managed to have an interview for a Band 5 posts. Can you make video for your interview experience or any tips that you would recommend? There is so much information out there and I feel a bit lost 😅
I'm so glad you're back Emma, it's lovely to see you again.I'm currently in my 2nd year of SLT and it has been a a whirlwind of emotions.I start a forensic placement within a week and I am so nervous.I was wondering if you have any tips to have for any forensic settings and what to expect?
thank you sm for this video! im starting my msc in SLT in sept and currently gaining some experience as an sen learning assistant so this is super helpful thanks😊
Could you possibly do a video or talk more about how you got shadowing/volunteering experience related to SLT? I’m hoping to do a SLT masters but I’m struggling to find any volunteering opportunities and I’m unsure of where to look for them!
Hey, I absolutely love your videos and have watched all of them, was awaiting a new one since long. I am considering applying for the masters in SLT at City uni of London. I am from India and as an international applicant I have a lot of queries. Could you connect with me personally please? Or at least share how the job prospects look like for international students during/after course completion?
This was so helpful and insightful - I’m a 2nd MSc SLT student in Lincolnshire & wondered if you could share more details of your placements (especially Evalina Hospital if you can) Thanks Emma 😊
Great video! Was wondering what the work-life balance is like in SLT? Do you have to do much overtime/ work in your own time or are you given enough time for reports and prep?
I'm an A-level student and I'm doing criminology, psychology, and history. I'm looking at doing a degree apprenticeship in speech and language therapy and I was just wondering if you had any advice? The apprenticeship is with the NHS and it's pretty new but I was so interested in it as it's only 4 yrs and university was never something I was really interested in.
Hi Emma :) I'm beginning the process of apply to master's programs in the UK, but as a US citizen, I wish I could be more knowledgeable about the different Unis in the UK. Were there other programs outside of London that you were considering for SLT? Can you recommend some programs to look at, maybe from colleagues' experiences or from your own? Thanks so much! ❤
Is there a way to become a Speech and Langiage Therapist without going to Uni? Through training? Could I become an assistant and train my way up? I really want to go down this path but I can't go back to Uni because I have rent to pay, the uni is 3 hours away and I can't move and there doesn't seem to be online courses 😩 do you know any way around it?
There are a few degree apprenticeships of Speech and Language Therapy with a few unis or you can work as speech and language therapy assistant and see if you can be funded with your employer to go uni and be credited.
Hello! I love your videos. Im really considering doing a SLT masters at City! Do you have insta or even an email or anything that I can ask you a couple of questions on regarding some questions? It would mean so much! Let me know what's best. Thanks lovely 💖💕💖
Hey Emma! Firstly congrats for qualifying and being in your new role! Pleased for you. I actually discovered SLT through your channel two years ago while living in China and working as an ESL teacher. I’m back in the UK now (as of 6 months) and secured an interview at City for the SLT MSc - thank you for all your useful videos and showing us the genuine/honest side of life as a postgrad. At risk of sounding extremely forward here, I was wondering if we could chat a bit on Instagram / another way that you’re comfortable with and if I could pick your brain about the interview process (shi**** it! 😂) and being a mature student on the course if I get in (I’m 28). I’m based in Angel and would also be nice to make a SLT friend/talk about experiences. 🤍
