Every Pakistani should stop talking about cultural similarities with India. There are none now. Indian culture is progressive and aspirational whereas Pakistan has a regressive culture and a closed society.

It's the grapevine here and there making headlines because if the location we all share and some low tier resources just take those highlights and spread them with no sense of responsibility. From coastal areas to deserts and dry rough terrains to hilly regions to flood affected lowlands to earthquake prone Himalayan tectonic belt to snow covered mountainous...etc. US is not that diverse. And China is developed mostly in the Eastern areas. India is developing all regions (only Northeast got ignored...but thats also changing now)!

It would have been interesting to see how a Pakistani would see Southern India. To me, it's a cultural shock. If you have seen gender inclusion in North India it's at a totally another level in South India. Here it is not a surprise to see women driving trucks, public transport or work on forklifts, earthmovers and it isn't even a news. Also people are lot more gentle, educated, disciplined and life is a lot more predictable (I mean compared to West Bengal). And many others - such as educational fund accounts for daughters. If you deposit 1k for 5 years, govt will give you back 4k after 5 years if you spend that money on your daughter's education. Women get higher interest rates on their bank deposits. There is 33% reservation of seats in Engg/Medical institutes for girls, and they get discounted rates for fee. 1. Elitism: The people i have met are all from extremely privileged background, mostly kids of Army officers, Bureaucrats or defence contractors, Indian diaspora is all about merit. Pakistani people simply disown the poverty in their own country
2 Education: Pakistani are brainwashed by their education system, i have seen lack of critical thinking and a narrative of falsehood even in the foreign educated people

But it's definitely not going to happen soon. Pakistan itni jaldi sudharne nahi waala. Two nation theory hawwa me nahi bani thi. There will be no talks until Pakistan stops funding and nurturing terrorists. Can't compromise our brothers in Army for mere tourism. Nuclear tests might not have happened in our time, but we have witnessed the Mumbai, Uri, and Pathankot attacks. Not just witnessed we have lost our family members and friends in those attacks. We know how many anti-India activities are funded by ISI within India. India's economic growth shows what we want as a nation, our actions and results show where we have put in our efforts and same goes with Pakistan. It's been in last 8 yrs that we didn't face any major bomb blast. We know how hard our agencies are working to protect the citizen. And quite the opposite is happening on the other side of the border. There is no comparison btw India and Pakistan. Right now the relationship there is lop-sided. When there is real struggle even electricity bill collection from a Muslim mohalla by a Hindu becomes difficult. And there is envy, they just can’t see Hindus prosper, and that a Hindu become their leader, that was the reason for partition. You can’t sidestep this reality that already transpired and took 1.5 million Hindu and Sikh lives. Finally, you are not a civilizational threat where you are actively converting people into Hinduism, preaching supremacy of your Hindu civilization over theirs and demeaning them. I have been waiting for this much promised episode on your Indian tour and am delighted to hear your thoughtful analysis. Your observations as an outsider gave a different perspective to many things. I never thought of the new infrastructures being built in the terms of maximum benefit for the maximum number of people simply because it didn't strike me that there was any other way of doing it! The elite centric infrastructure development in Pakistan was a surprising piece of information.
I think in India we are now witnessing a greater democratization among the population with the result that utilities like airports which were more exclusive just a decade earlier, are being used by a larger cross section of the society. The Bangalore airport, for eg, is widely used by migrant labourers travelling to and fro to Guwahati. They say it makes more sense to spend more on flight tickets than to lose a couple of days of extra wages which a train journey would entail. On top of that is the feeling of pride in the journey as well as the admiration from their native village.
I would have thought that women participation in construction activity would be low because what we see in most cities is construction work being carried out by migrant workers. In the Southern States, migrant workers are generally male and leave their families behind in their native villages. When they do migrate with families, the women seem to take up work as domestic helps. Women from the lower economic strata of the richer southern States, generally prefer not to take up domestic help jobs and instead prefer to work in factories or in the housekeeping departments (the surprising fact is that domestic help wages might actually be higher if you are doing multiple households but that job is considered low dignity).
You are right about education. Over the years you are seeing a rapid decrease in the number of school age kids roaming around during school hours. It used to be distressing to see the sheer number of migrant labourers' children not receiving an education in the Delhi NCR region in the early 2000s. The free education, free school meals, free books and uniforms which most States provide acts as an added incentive to keep the children in school.
You are right about the infrastructure development that is taking place. Most of our cities are now dug up with new metro and road constructions coming up. Most of the cities are right now unlivable but once the metros are up and running and the roads are functional, the quality of life would definitely go up. Sadly the pace of construction is not anywhere close to what we would like since all too often the work would be brought to a halt because of stay orders and disputes. Democracy always takes more time than autocracy!

    Dear UzairBhai. Greetings from Mumbai,
You have been very balanced, objective in analysis . This video wasnt any different, but only this time you talked about visit to India- Delhi, Agra, Rajkot/ Saurashtra, Mumbai and Goa .
Some common points which i fully endorse your views :
    1. Women participation is high, but mostly in Delhi, Mumbai, Goa as compared to Gujarat
    2. Digital payment options have increased alot for common person in day 2 day life. even though, cash is still the King , as RBI data shows Cash in circulation as % of GDP has been rising
    3. Inspite of Communal tension created by certain elements from ruling party, basic fabric of Indian society remains secular. Your observations in Gujarat confirmed that. Surely, uoi must have noticed diversity in religious places and peaceful coexistence of diff religious groups in Mumbai, Delhi, Goa , Agra also.
    4. India inspite of its challenges in Infrastructure - unruly traffic , congested airports ..is making efforts to move ahead.
Videos about your visit to India got lot of traction here in India , mainly becoz it were full of praise for India 🙂
India and Pakistan both are in low income category . Both countries have to pull-up socks to get Per capita income cross atleast $10,000 to make visible impact on lives of poorest people in both countries. Instead of competing with each other, India & Pakistan need to collaborate to get economic development moving at rapid pace.

I disagree that Pakistanis and Indians are the similar people. Else we would not have separated.
Your history starts from Md. Bin Qasim.
Our history goes back more than 5,000 years. And we tell that with pride.
You sometimes want to become like Arabs, sometimes Turks.
We always want to remain wherever we are as Indians, nothing else.
    We are Indian first.
    You are Islamic first.

I am from India and is a pleasant experience listening to some sane voice of Pakistani origin.
My sincere view is though India appears to be in a right trajectory, but it is a long way before we become anywhere near a developed country. For India, Chinese development must be an inspiration though we hate their bulliness, suppression of human rights and freedom and their wolf warrior diplomacy. Atleast in India , fundamentals like rule of law, Education, openness and tolerance are strong.
But, in Pakistan, they are driven by obsession with Kashmir and hatred towards Hindus and India and radicalisation of youth is quite significant. Unless Pakistani think tanks and the leadership address these primary issues, I don't think there will be any significant change in condition of Pakistan.
India , though a large country is a very benign neighbour and has no history of any aggression towards its neighbours. On the other hand, Chinese nature and how they bully their neighbours is well known and unfortunately, Pakistan has trusted China so much and partial reason for this present economic condition is bad debts from China . China us not bothered about the Economic viability of the projects in host country, they just see their interests and all the debts are at very high interest rates.
Imagine if Pakistan has good relations with India, how India would have supported Pakistan at low interest rates unlike Chinese loans which come at very high interest rates and the projects are executed with inferior quality.
