I'm 61 and the last suppressor design you talked about is what we used back in the late 70's and early 80's if my memory is correct. I worked at an ammo company that had a class 3 license for testing guns and some had suppressors .. They had wipes they called it and I think they were rubber or something and were like gaskets that went inside as well. I remember we had to replace them from time to time, or the owner did. I didn't do so. They were built like you talked about. Kinda a tube within a tube and the inner tube had holes and these wipes and stuff to slow down the gases escaping or to slow them down I think.. It's been awhile though.. Great stuff.. I found this by accident. I was looking for new suppressor info for a rifle I want to use to predator hunt with and wanted to know about the types available today.. Thanks so much. I subscribed. Tim
Hi I had one just like yours with baffles all the way through and it was ok but I took out the first 7 baffles and replaced them with a 6 inch long piece of pipe that I had cut openings in like 1/8 inch wide slices in it to allow the sound to go through and I wrapped the pipe with steel wool and sprayed the wool with white lithium grease and slid it into the can and used the baffles in the last half of the can and it was the best one I’ve ever tried. No sound came from it. I wasn’t sure if even shot. Just a small puff of smoke. Try it I couldn’t believe it
Can you please tell me, how thin are the walls on this two supresors? One is steinless steel? The other is too? Do you see allready supresors, that tube it self made from aluminium and 1 - 2mm (0,0394 - 0,0787 inch) (3/64 - 5/64 inch fraction) thin? Aluminium for 9x19 or even rifle, it will be not so good? Thank you for sharing and explane different types of supresors.
Hi vladi, both the walls on these suppressors are titanium. The insides (baffles and monocore) are stainless steel with the exception of the spacers in the the homemade one. They are actually pvc pipe. I have seen aluminum ones for 22lr but that's about the extent to which aluminum is used and that was of course just the tube not the insides as aluminum is to soft and will erode away
@@fayettenammilitia7429 Many thanks It is helpfool for me. Good that i do not bought aluminium one :) I think it is was for airgun, but the seller unfortunely this do not tell. Thank you much.
