- After finding a flyer asking for mercenaries for hire, Vox Machina make their way to The Palace of the Sovereign to accept the job, but the council aren't all super convinced that they'll be up to it. As Percy said, Vox Machina is a play on words. But what does it actually mean?
It can roughly be translated to "Voice of The Machine", which is a reference to the fact that the party is all played by professional voice actors. Granted, this probably worked better when this didn't apply to every other character in the story...

I love how Vex had her Primeval Awareness weaved into the story.

I think what they did with everyone is awesome! They gave Scanlan hand based magic to explain when he gets Bigby's Hand. They gave everyone a very followable power growth that you don't have to have any D&D knowledge to follow.

But will they have to change it again ~if~ theres more dragons later? The paralysing headache is a bit much, and just innately knowing dragons are nearby kinda ruins big surprises.

Notice they didnt bring him to subtly break into Kreigs house. Must have skipped over the hour of convincing Vex to leave him somewhere haha

@@hhylobates4098 unfortunately that was due to budget constraints, trinket just costed too much to animate thats why they left her in the keep for most of the season

Normally, hearing a rap song of any kind in a fantasy setting feels off to me.
But in THIS case; after hearing Scanlan do it, I'll make an exception
Scanlan invented it just to sound cool, what a legend
Sam Riegel transcends genres, styles, and indeed universes.
I mean Scanlans "original" spoofs of pop songs never really felt out of place, he has the power to utilise music from across dimensions
Don't forget Scanlans backstory was inspired by Eminem and Dr.Dre

I watched all three episodes back-to-back as soon as they were released. Utter perfection. I don't know how The Legend of Vox Machina managed to exceed the hype, but it did. Bidet!

Okay, I imagine that if The Witcher and Guardians Of The Galaxy had a lovechild, this show would be it. So, maybe I'll watch it just for Scanlan... and Keyleth... and the bear. Definitely the bear.

This show is the example of how to exceed expectations and hype! BRAVO.
That's the thing about Critical Role, they always give the fans something great back. They get a shitload of money from the fans, and they deserve every cent.
I woke up and watched all three episodes. I want more so badly. It was so amazing seeing it in animation form.

@@Allantitan There are so many nods to the campaigns in the show. If you haven't already, rewatch the Gilmore's Glorious Goods scene and check out the shelves.
There are a ton in there but I'm like 90% sure I spotted the handle of Vex's broom
For someone who has followed Critical Role since Campaign 1 Episode 32 (PIke in action got me hooked on being a cleric) this show brought me to tears. The subtle D&D moments and seeing characters you love in action visually is everything I could have hoped for and more. Vox Machina will always be my favorite.
Between plans going awry because of locked doors, to seeing a copy of Tusk Love in Gilmore's Glorious Goods, this show really shows the actor's appreciation to the fans, as well as being a bit of an apology for thinking $750,000 was not "respectfully, a paltry sum," as Pumat would put it.
This will be my jam for a while.
As long as its not the tune at the end of episode 3 (great tune)

I actually like the return to having new episodes come out gradually. If something goes badly wrong, they can correct it on the fly. If they dump the entire season at the same time, a big problem could go completely unresolved until the next season, which we might not even get because of such a problem. Case in point, just look at Wheel of Time. Plus, Our society needs more delayed gratification.

The best thing about that scene is that, in other cartoons the video editing would be meta, outside of the story and unseen by the characters within the show. Here? Scanlan's casting Major Image while performing, so everything we see as the audience is everything that the King and his council see while he's performing, and that's brilliant.
(The purple smoke gives it away, it looks similar to when Scanlan cast Major Image to fool Brimscythe... which is kind of ironic considering he's in the room here)
"Get some water, hide your daughters" is the best line I've ever heard.
If you think this song is legendary, wait until the episode 3 credits.

I haven’t seen anything else of this show, but it is automatically awesome because of this alone.
Just watched the 1st 3 episodes and it absolutely exceeded major expectations! Just WoW! The voice acting is perfect by all. The humor is naughty and on point. The animation is special. It's an amazing transference of the game we watched them play without feeling Hollywood. Watch it! You'll agree. 👍

I'm so glad they got a show as well. I sincerely hope that there are more seasons because I'd love to see the other arcs of the campaign covered! The Chroma Conclave arc would be ridiculous to see on screen!

If it happens, that would be great. Campaign 2 had some moments I am really excited to see them animate. The contrast between the usual light-hearted chaos brought about by Jester and the seriousness of events like Mollymauk vs Lorenzo.
Also seeing characters like Fjord where his player Travis let a little more of himself come through in the character's personality compared to when he made Grog.
We need a Mighty Nein animation at some point.
