      @isbfonline  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Saranya, thank you for reaching out to ISBF!
      As you have already completed your undergraduate degree, you could pursue a Master's programme either in India or abroad. The other option for you would be to look at building your economics or finance quotient by pursuing a 1-year Graduate Diploma programme.
      At ISBF, we offer 1-year Graduate Diploma programmes in Economics, Management and Finance all of which are under the ambit of the University of London and the curriculum that you will study will be from the London School of Economics.
      The GD programmes serve as a perfect stepping stone to pursuing a master's abroad or focussing on a research oriented employment approach. Would you like to know more about these programmes?

    Which one is best ma.economics or ma financial economics after ba economics?

    • @isbfonline
      @isbfonline  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ramya,
      Thank you for reaching out to us :)
      The answer to your question is is dependent on the career path you want to follow. It is also dependent on the current job trends as the world has gone through a paradigm shift due to the pandemic. In a post-pandemic world, the need for professionals with specialised education has increased massively. Therefore, you may want to choose an MA in Financial Economics as it will provide you with a more nuanced qualification.
      However, if you are a purist and would like to pursue just Economics, then go for an MA Economics.
      Another factor to look at while making this decision would be your choice of Institution to pursue either of the programmes.
      Our recommendation, however, would be to look at an MSc in Economics as an MSc programme would teach you Economics as a Science and will have a application-oriented approach towards the subject. The London School of Economics, of which ISBF is one of the five featured teaching institutions in the world, offers this programme. And remember, an LSE degree would wonders to your career :)
      Do let us know if you have any further queries
      Best,
      Team ISBF

    Is it compulsory to have Mathmatics as a subject in 12th?

    • @isbfonline
      @isbfonline  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      For studying the London School of Economics's BSc (Hons) Economics or BSc (Hons) Economics & Finance programmes at ISBF, it is indeed compulsory to have Maths in Class 12 in school. This would generally hold true for any high-quality undergraduate programme in Economics. In fact, Maths becomes more and more important as you go from school to undergraduate to postgraduate study in Economics. If, on the other hand, you like Economics but don't like the Maths that comes with it, then opt for combinations of Economics with Management or other less quantitative subjects, where Maths up to Class 10 would suffice in terms of eligibility. You would typically then go on to pursue an MBA and work in the corporate sector thereafter.

    • @isbfonline
      @isbfonline  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rinky, it depends on what you want to do. If research is your chosen line of career in Economics, then yes a PhD would be imperative. But if you want to work in public policy or at think tanks, then a master's should suffice. Having said that a PhD would probably be the biggest asset for you.

I am quite weak with my mathematics... But i want to do economics in my higher studies... Will that be a good option if I choose economics as a subject for my undergrad and pg

    • @chiraagmehta7484
      @chiraagmehta7484 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Vijay, pure Economics is quite a quantitative field, with more and more Mathematics as one progresses from UG to PG to research and a PhD. Since it seems that you don't have Maths in Class 12 (unless that's your sixth subject), this would count as a disadvantage. But the answer to your question (about whether or not to pursue Economics) also depends very materially on what career you wish to pursue. If you want to become an economist, then you should study Economics at the UG level, and my advice to you would be to befriend Mathematics at the earliest possible. It doesn't matter so much if you're not great at it, or not scoring very high marks, so long as you don't dislike doing it. If, on the other hand, your career aspirations are, say, to work in the corporate sector, then I would suggest that instead of pure Economics, you look to pursue a dual degree programme such as Economics & Management, which is ideal for students who like Economics but not the Maths that comes with it. I hope this helps. All the best.

    • @isbfonline
      @isbfonline  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Arghya, an MBA specialising in Finance would be good for Investment Banking, while a Master's in Economics wouldn't give you that edge that is required for it. It is also important to note the other specialised programmes such as BSc (Hons) in Economics & Finance which you provide with the best of both worlds.

      @@isbfonline hello thank-you for the information. Is there in difference between ba hons. and bsc. hons in economics in India or is it just the nomenclature?

    • @isbfonline
      @isbfonline  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arghyadebnath3845 There is a substantial difference in a BA (Hons) Economics & a BSc (Hons) Economics. One of the main differences is the curriculum that is taught. A BA would have mostly Theoretical Concepts which may or may not be updated or be applicable in the real world today. However, a BSc treats Economics as a science and therefore students are taught a highly application oriented curriculum with foundation in the theories thereby providing you with the advantage of hitting the ground running either for a Master's or for working at any firm.

    What can you do after a BA Economics honors in the field of economics? Can I do an MSc in economics?

    • @isbfonline
      @isbfonline  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Aditya, yes surely you pursue a Master's in Economics. However there will be a difference in the way the subject is approached as an MSc would treat Economics as a science and the curriculum will be application-oriented, while a MA would treat it as a social science/art subject where the curriculum is more theoretical.
      Here a Graduate Diploma in Economics from LSE offered at ISBF New Delhi would provide you with an advantage as it would bring you to speed or in some courses take you further ahead than an MA in Economics.

      Hi Karni,
      Thank you for reaching out to us.
      IITs are great institutions that have helped build this country and provide a more science-oriented society. However, it is primarily a technological institute.
      We would recommend an institute that specialises in Economics education, and an education that would value not just to your career in the short run but in the long run. The LSE-led BSc (Hons) Economics at ISBF is one such programme that has consistently produced some of the best economics graduates this country has seen. With an up-to-date application-oriented curriculum from LSE and a globally acclaimed degree from the University of London, ISBF students have a flood of opportunities that allow to venture abroad for a top Master's programme or a placement here in India in a renowned multinational company.
