How to top up your Landis & Gyr e470 Smart Meter

- How to top up your Landis & Gyr e470 Smart Meter with a UTRN code.
1) Start by pressing the 'A' button to wake up the meter screen.
2) Press the 'A' button until the meter screen shows 'Emergency Credit Accept'. Press 'A' for 'No'.
3) The meter will then show 'Add Credit'. Press 'B' for 'Yes'.
4) You can then enter the UTRN code by pressing the 'A' button to scroll up from 0 through to 9. Press the 'B' button after you've entered each number.
5) Once the full code has been entered press and hold the 'B' button. The screen will then show 'accepted' and the amount you topped up.
If your supply went off before you topped up you'll need to re-enable the supply.
1) To do this press 'B' when the meter shows 'Press B for Elec'.
2) You'll then need to confirm this by pressing 'B' again.
I HATE these smart meters ....nothing but trouble since they put the damn thing in ....and try talkimg to someome at British gas .... IMPOSSIBLE

The numbers are along because they have to use crypto graphic authentication features so you can’t accidentally fake a code
If B Button is on bottom left and A button is on the right of display screen, press and hold both buttons at the time it display a screen for you to add top up code. This may also work for other units! Mine is E470 looks slightly different to this one.

How do I make meter reading on e470 please
We brits just love making thing's difficult for ourselves and who ever invented this "Smart meter" isnt very fcuking smart .Because I've just moved into a building with one of these monstrosities in and its like reading hieroglyphics thats why I'm here to try and top up Why couldnt they have just sent us prepayment card go online/shop to top it ip and it automatically goes into uour meter??? Yeah that would be too easy for them to do that and i think they just to make us suffer the slings and arrows.But anyway thank you kind Sir 👍🤞

That’s what smart meters are supposed to do get you a smart card take to the shop put credit on it and it automatically goes onto meter or most suppliers have an app that you can use to top up.
If you can’t do that with yours then there’s possibly a communication issue best bet is to call your supplier who’ll send someone out to look at it
British Gas won't send anybody out
Can anyone of you tell me how to load this?
These meters are not meant for topping up they can be configured for it with the manufacturers recommend using other methods where you can tap a card or something to top up
I put code it said accplte. But never Allow me out gas on rubbish
People need to realise that there are some issues but there were already so many issues with the billing of traditional style ones

Hate to admit this. Snart meter is not that smart
This smart a load of rubbish want the thing taken out
It will cost around £30,000 to purchase an individual non-smart meter and they probably wouldn’t even install it because you have to start a contract with a manufacturer who will produce them to the required specification
absolutely hate these meters. theres a video on your channel from 6 years ago showing a meter thats actually far more user friendly.
These meters are not designed to be operated on the meter. These meters simply communicate to the energy supplier. The energy supplier is supposed to integrate a system online so it can tell the meter to increase the balance. That’s what you’re meant to do. This is only meant to be a back up method.
@@UKsystems not exactly smart then is it. i could do that shit with the previous system before we were forced to swap over.
@@Mathewmartialart well the whole one of a small meet is it all done through the energy companies website and that so it is smarter if the energy company is smart that’s the important thing. They also generally allow with PSU go to buy online as slightly cheap rate sometimes.
