Great tips! But just a suggestion and it's more for ending the wheelie, you should save a little bit of the rev range to set the bike down. Accelerate before the front wheel makes contact with the ground will be a lot softer landing and is a lot easier on your fork seals.

No, you just slightly press the brake if you feel the front wheel is goin too high.
Basically you need to control your height using the brake

Nothing bad happens but doing a wheelie becomes easier and you get better balance with reduced rear tyre pressure
