MEXICO CITY (AP) - Auto worker Ivan Flores spends his days transporting parts for U.S.-bound Audi SUVs at a plant in central Mexico, but he laughs when asked if he could ever buy one of the $40,000 Q5 SUVs the plant produces on his $2.25 per hour salary. “For us it is a dream to buy a Q5; we never could,” said Flores, 40, who supports three sons on his roughly $110 weekly paycheck. The premise of the auto industry since the times of Henry Ford was that workers would make enough to buy the cars they produced. Across the U.S. and Europe, the arrival of an auto plant meant the creation of middle-class communities, with employees taking vacations, buying homes, cars, perhaps even cottages and boats. Mine, that I owned for just over 8 months. It never got better than 15 mpg. Dealership was no kind of help with that either. My 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche that I traded in got way better gas mileage and it was supercharged. Don’t be fooled.
Yeah it's ridiculous! No room. If anybody's going to buy a truck I would look at the domestic trucks. They give you a lot more room in the back. Ram trucks have the better option as far as storage in the rear cab. They have little secret compartments including underneath the floor mats which they have storage in some of their trucks. Personally I wouldn't buy a ram currently until probably 2026 under the new CEO. The trucks that are out there were built under the old CEO which has been fired from stellantis I wouldn't trust as far as quality. Tim kuniskis is back with stellantis and he builds good trucks under his direction. I've left a previous comment on here about paying $50,000 for a Tacoma on a higher trim level Tacoma which would be better just to buy a heavy duty truck from the domestic dealers. If you're going to spend over 50 Grand you might as well get a heavy duty truck with a V8 engine it's going to probably be a lot better. But whatever brand anybody buys please spend a month and do your research and then make a good decision.
Still would like it in a six cylinder like I have in my 2020. I wanted to trade up to a Tundra but they went from an eight cylinder to a six. I tow an RV for full time travel and I'd rather not have a tightly wound transmission. I'm now thinking about a Titan because it's an eight cylinder. Also four wheel drive is nice to have for bad weather.
Got to drive a sr Tacoma..man that truck goes fast..I have a 2006 got it brand new..doesn’t have a quick response like this 2024..but I’ll be getting a 2025 Tacoma ..well if wife approves..lol
4th generation Tacoma with a 4 cylinder turbo is an engine failure waiting to happen, with turbo engines running at higher pressure. Gone are the days you buy a Tacoma thinking you'll get 2-3 hundred thousand miles on it before catastrophic failure. Just about all vehicles are good for the first few years.
Pure nonsense.. 4th Gen Tacoma reliability... Is it a concern? I say no and engineers and others confirm this. Do revolutions in the engine matter? Yes. Every engine can only handle so many turns of the crank before parts give to engine failure. 3rd Gen owners that hate the new engine, and outsiders who never drove nor done research will say 3rd Gen and or any NA motor will outlast the new plant. It's simply couldn't be farther from the truth, and Toyota knows their place lives in their longevity. You ever wonder why diesel engines last so long? Most say oh it's the fuel. But in reality it's due to high torque at low rpm. Low revolutions in the engines life cycle per mile. The new 2.4 max torque at 1700 rpm. It runs its curve mainly below 2k rpm. And the hybrid even more so. Watch and learn these engines will be 300k engines or more with proper care. Heat is the enemy on turbo engines. They have a V8 style sized cooling system on this tiny engine. Both port and direct injection. Will keep the valve body clean. This low rpm motor will last much longer than the average joe is thinking. Time will prove it. It's why Toyota put it in most of the midsized lineup. They already know. The hate you hear around on social media is nothing more than people who are uneducated on the why they think such things vs the reality of this new power plant.

Yes it seems Toyota is choosing to reward itself with insane profits (before EV's become the mandated norm) for making some of the most reliable internal combustion engine vehicles by producing their truck line for next to nothing while simultaneously jacking the price up.
So, my full size 400 hp V8 Titan Pro 4X gets 15 city and 20 highway mpg. Not that big of a difference. Could have just improved the bulletproof V6 Toyota.

This is not the best Toyota to buy. Until Toyota can make they're modern vehicles for longevity and reliability, then it's not going to be the best Toyota to buy. Putting a turbo on a 4-cylinder engine and ramming all that air into that tiny engine to work like a V6 engine that's not going to be reliable over time. Anybody who knows about engines you don't do this. It's not just Toyota it's every manufacturer out there. You can't make a small engine work like a V6 you're going to ask for problems in the future. And when that engine blows you're going to see how much it's going to cost it's going to be the same amount almost for a new vehicle. Not worth it . Toyota should just pay the government fines and just make engines more reliable again. If they do more people will buy them and they'll have enough profit to cover the fine. That's Toyota and everybody else. Why doesn't anybody out there Google and see how much it cost to replace a 2024 Toyota tundra engine.
The only good toyota was the 2.4 22re , the v6 is garbage, I just drove one 2025 tacoma trd sport 2.4 turbo , it’s so fast, it doesn’t compare with the heavy 3.6 Tacoma’s .
I wish I can afford one
no way. keep the 4 cyl turbos.......this is a truck ,not a Camry. I will keep my 2012 trd sport 6 cyl 4.0 L engine forever.bought it new. has 141K on it now without a stick of throttle EVER
Y’all complain about EVERYTHING!!
2025 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab Half Cab 4X4!
Very nice tacoma
I just don't understand why anyone would buy this for 53 thousand when you can get a ZR2 for less. Insanity
Way too close to the Ranger Raptor which has the 400 hp twin turbo V6 and is far more capable.
Hmmm i wonder why?🤔🤔🤔Probably because it is sporty, affordable and good for what it is
Affordable is debatable, it's a bit overpriced for what it is.
@FlameHAZE2010 fr though
Toyota is going down. Bad
Honda will kick Toyota trucks out the same as Odyssey did to Sienna.
The precipitous decline of Toyota needs to be studied.
How much are they paying you to promote that garbage truck?
Good looking truck for a Toyota like it
Haha only a fool will by this. Too expensive. Bring back V6
$53K ? FOR A 4 CYLINDER. Hell no. Toyota has made my next purchase easy. Nissan Frontier coming soon.
🤮
U proven ground stay away from
Garbage.
Here is why its not the one to buy........4 cylinder turbo.
From someone that simply wants it to be bad. Instead of any proof.. your opinion means zero..
