It cannot be overstated how much I miss Victoria Wood. It's the rare writer or performer who, despite never meeting them, feels like such a dear and integral part of your life. I mean look, just look at the love in that room, Julie Walters doesn't say a word and has a couple of thousand people doubled over with laughter.
I love these people so much. I'd never heard of the show till I found it in a charity shop, back in May 2015 as a dvd. I forget how many times I've played it . It later inspired me to take part in my first panto in Herne Bay, a month ago. At 68 there's still more to learn. Look at Sydney Livingstone.
Luckily i used to record anything to do with Victoria Wood so I've started to go through my video's to put them onto DVD and inturn on here for everyone else to enjoy and relive :o)
This has to be the most joyous song/dance routine, in any musical. She pinched the middle eight section from an earlier song of hers which was called Reincarnation. I think it sounds great in both versions.
Jasperbunny - thank you for your contribution to youtube with Victoria Wood goodies for people like me that don't get Vic locally and have to try and see what we can by nice people like you that have access to the Beebs.
As for Celia Imrie being in the audience and then on stage she would have quietly got up out of the seat and went backstage and while Victoria is talking she would have then had a quick costume change at an area behind the wings a little quick change area. That's how they do that in theatres!

Eight years gone and boy, do we still miss her talent.

Mrs Overall is more Ginger nuts than Ginger Rogers but talented all the same....Marvelously politically incorrect in the "Macaroons song".....
