    The Vista v2 has three screws instead of two, but this guide and the solution work perfectly. Thank you, this makes a world of difference 👍

      Amazing to hear about your successful repair! Yes, the V2 is slightly different, I have a video on it too but glad you could do the repair with this video as well!

    I bought this brake repair kit which Stroller Dr posted from Canada to N.Ireland. I completed the repair in about an hour and the brake is working like a dream. The brake action feels better than before also. Huge cost saving compared to replacing the frame or buying another pram. Thanks for the product + this instructional video. Life saver! Sean.

    Wow we just fixed our stroller using this kit! I saw a small piece of metal broken off and couldn’t believe that was the cause, then I found this video. Saved us hundreds on replacing the stroller. Thanks! Clear instructions too

    Spent easily 3-4 hrs researching different solutions to the broken brake including contacting Upababy to get their replacement options. They wanted to replace the entire frame which was insane given the root cause was a small broken spring. Before purchasing the spare part I took the brake apart (30mins) and figured out how it all went together. I purchased the spring from Stroller Dr. and once it arrived it took about 30mins to complete the repair. Our spring was mounted differently to the video which caused some problems. Our spring was mounted to a seperate u shaped bracket. It took a good 10mins of making it all fit in and screw the spring in place. Definitely not for the inpatient but if you give yourself time this is a very fixable problem and saves you hundreds of dollars in frame replacement costs 🎉

      Great work Matthew! There are 3 slightly different UppaBaby Vista brake configurations from 2015 to present. This spring will fit all of them. I have intended to make additional videos to cover all 3 variations but haven’t had a chance yet! Hood for you for figuring it out, and glad we could save you money!

      We are in the same boat! I’m purchasing this kit now. UppaBaby’s support solutions are ridiculous $$ and not environmentally friendly. We don’t need to send the entire base back for a spring replacement!

    Thank you so much! Fantastic video and I appreciate you going over the reasons why your spring is superior.
    I can’t imagine having bought another stroller because of a tiny spring. Maybe it’s made this way on purpose 🤷🏽‍♂️

    It worked! I got the spring from you and just finished the repair. The repair kept not working and I realized that I had installed the spring on the wrong side of the flapper. Once I flipped it around, it worked perfectly!

    Success! Thank you so much, Kim! The parts arrived quickly, everything i needed was there and your video was FANTASTIC. So grateful! Uppababy wanted $220 USD for a whole new frame, they don't even sell replacement parts.
    Can't recommend Stroller Dr highly enough! Please keep making videos and fixes!

    Hi Kim! I got your kit and just finished the repair and it now works great, BUT in all my fixing the large spring (not the torque spring) popped out of my Vista (2021). It took me a long time to figure out that the spring on my model goes on the WHEEL side of the mechanism and doest have a home on the inside of the BRAKE side. Just in case someone else has the same problem it’s a little different than the model show in the video. Thank you!!

    Thank you so much. Second time I've had to go through this video as the brake has failed a second time. I was going to buy the spring and have it shipped to the UK but the spring still hasn't broken so I've just cleaned up and added grease. Worked last time so let's see. Any recommendations for the type of grease? I've used white lithium grease but it says it for metal parts normally. What's best for this plastic?

    • @StrollerDr
      @StrollerDr  หลายเดือนก่อน

      So glad the video helped! I use white lithium grease spray or a silicone grease. The parts you need to zone in on are where the brake pin meets the white plastic from the brake cable, and the metal brake cable itself. There are thousands of opinions on this but from my research for a combination of plastic and metal the white lithium grease or a silicone grease work best!

    What kind of spacer is it? I seem to have lost mine when I first disassembled it mnths ago before finding your video! I just bought and received your fix but unfortunately without the spacer i can't tighten the screw properly.
    Edit: I bought a #10-32 stainless steel nut and it works fine as a replacement so far!

    Question for you. Would this repair work if the right rear wheel locks when the brake is on but the left rear wheel does not lock when the brake is on? Or is that related to a different issue?

    • @StrollerDr
      @StrollerDr  หลายเดือนก่อน

      This kit will not help with that. It sounds as though the brake pin on the right hand side may be stuck. Clean it out and make sure there is no dirt, and then use some lubricant spray (not WD-40) or oil and hopefully it will work. In rare occasions the brake pin is broken... in which case your best bet is to go to a repair shop near you. Best of luck!

    Hi Kim, I’m needing the actual spring that retracts the brake pedal. My brake engages but pedal doesn’t retract. I do love in Australia and was hoping I can find one at Bunnings or somewhere like that. Do you have the dimensions for it so I can do my best to find one 🤞🏽

    • @StrollerDr
      @StrollerDr  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the brake will engage, but the pedal won't retract, it sounds like the whole mechanism needs a good spray with lubricant. Try and get the spray in all the nooks-and-crannies. I recommend a white lithium spray made by 3-in-1. Do not use WD-40 for this purpose (although great for many other things). If you have taken apart the brake and put it back together, it is possible that you have overtightened the screws that hold the brake pedal on. Try loosening them a little to see if the pedal will rebound.
      If this does not work you can email me at strollerdr@gmail.com and we can try and troubleshoot together.
      It depends on your exact model, but I could get you specifications for the springs which push the pedal back to the original position, if they have been lost or damaged somehow. I will post here too, once measured.

  • @ZahyanFatima
    @ZahyanFatima 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Our stroller's left rear wheel's brake pin does not pop out as much as the right one and that's why the break doesn’t engage and the left wheel doesn’t lock. Do you think I should follow this video to fix it or is it something else? I have switched the left and right wheels, cleaned and lubed it with WD40 but it didn’t work. Thank you 🙂

    • @StrollerDr
      @StrollerDr  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This kit will not help with that problem. It sounds as though it is a problem on the left hand side. Cleaning out the dirt, removing rust with WD-40 and then applying a silicone spray would be the first steps. If that doesn't work you may have to take the left side apart. Sometimes the spring that pushes the pin back in (a different spring from the one in my kit) gets twisted and stops the pin from moving in and out correctly. If you do this take pictures as you go so you can put it all back together again!

    Hi! So we don’t seem to have a plastic piece that the spring goes into on our vista 2 so we have no idea where to put that spring.. did we have to buy that piece???

    • @StrollerDr
      @StrollerDr  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Christina, no you didn't have to buy that piece! Take a very careful look around the space where you disassembled your brake, hopefully you find it. If not, no worries, I have quite a few so drop me an email at strollerdr@gmail.com and I can send you one. Keep me posted!

    Will this repair work for when the brake will not disengage?

    • @StrollerDr
      @StrollerDr  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably not. Usually if the brake won’t disengage there is dirt or rust preventing the brake pin from moving in and out. You can use this video to take the brake apart, clean and lubricate the brake pin and put it back together. I would make sure the channel the brake pin moves up and down is very clean before reassembly. Hope that helps!

    • @billabong454
      @billabong454 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok good to know. The pin can still be depressed but it won’t retract.
