Hey Nick, I love your lessons! I wondered if you've considered recording your audio with a clip-on mic and portable audio recorder to reduce room noise. Thanks as always for your fantastic content!
As a guy who used to work at a music camp with special needs people, Dan annoys the shit out of me too. But he's probably hurting for attention and affirmation worse than the rest of us are, with less capable facilities to healthily cope with, and work around, that hurt/need. I'm cheering for Dan and supporting Nick and his class for tolerating and teaching a fellow student like him. He'll always annoy me, though. C'est la vie.
At 31:53, the corner is actually alive. White needs to respond the black descent by throwing in on the 1-1 point and (after black captures) has the 1-3 point. This usually doesn't work in this pigs-mouth shape after the mentioned exchange, but here white has an additional liberty at the 4-3 point. Though that does mean that black can capture the 4 stones in sente.
Any videos on how to punish non-joseki moves? Like why each move in joseki is important to follow, and which alternatives are peaceful vs which mis-plays have forced sequences to kill or punush?
I'd like to see that too! Especially common (reasonable-looking) mistakes in joseki which have a forced punishing sequence. In the meantime you might like Dwyrin's "Punishing Moves!" lecture in you haven't already seen it, particularly interesting because one theme is not doing anything special and letting bad moves be their own punishment so to speak... ^^
Butt-hurt, dan-level fucking magic will be the reason I use to explain every game I lose from now on.

Nick has done a lot of joseki videos. Just look for them
Joseki dictionaries say that the sequence at 18:06 is joseki but the decent to the second line by white and black is very territorial.
I feel for this guy...audience is 😓
Nope, not skipping around. Never skipping around. To be fair though, I saw the diagnonal immediately anyways.
dan wtf go home and yell at your tv or something
