It was due to Van Gogh's sister in law that his work became well known. Shortly after Vincent died, his brother, Theo also died, leaving her with Vincent's artwork. She strived and pushed to get Vincent recognized for his abilities as a tribute to him as well as her husband.

After Vincent cut his ear he painted a picture of the Doctor that took care of him and gave it to the doctor. The doctor's mother used it to patch up the chicken coops until it was sold in 1901.

This is so beautiful. While Van Gogh was not recognized while he was alive and only sold one painting in his lifetime, Picasso was actually very famous during his lifetime.

Vincent suffered from mental illness and committed suicide. Such a beautiful song that Don wrote and he sounds great for 78! Love HF backing him up and Rob killed it. Loved Van Gogh’s paintings in the background and the ending too. Don’t know if it’s CGI or what. Good one Kaireem!😄
Vincent Van Gogh was the painter who cut off his ear also. And he committed suicide at a young age. They sounded so beautiful together. Rob has the perfect tone to sing this song with Don. But I also really like when Rob, Austin and Don are singing together. I enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
Love this collaboration! "Vincent" is such a great song by Don McLean! He originally did it in 1972. What a great remake with Home Free! Rob's voice is perfect for this song. Such a beautiful tribute to the sad life of the painter Vincent Van Gogh. He suffered from depression & committed suicide. He never saw any success during his life. But now his paintings are worth millions of dollars.
Home Free also collaborated with Don on "American Pie".

This is truly phenomenal! What a voice Don McLean still has!
And of course Austin also sang great, but Rob's voice is just perfect for this song. His voice so warm, soft as silk and full of emotion.
The quiet not overwhelming background vocals and guitar playing complete it for me.
It's the same great song as my youth, but with the Home Free twist it's something different but also amazing.
A beautiful song where I as a Dutch person, know the history of the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh well.
I lived not far from his birthplace for a while.
If I could, I would have given Don McLean and Home Free a bouquet of sunflowers in memory of Vincent. The sunflower one of his most famous paintings 🌻......

Vincent's life was full of depression. I think his younger brother Theo was his greatest support. Vincent had a love/hate relationship with Paul Gauguin. When there were tensions between the two again, Vincent cut off his left ear. There is a painting of his ear being bandaged. At the age of 37, Vincent shot himself in the chest and died. A man with a sad life where he mainly made himself difficult. There is a mini series about Vincent which is very interesting to see.
