    I love this basket.......I just finished making it. I did my with 7 then an increase. (red heart) I did mine with dark orchid bottom them trim in 2 rows of gold, then medium purple for the middle with another 2 rows of gold. I finished it the rest of the way with real teal. For the edging i used the gold. It's beautiful. This is the biggest project for me so far. Your Video was great,easy to follow also. Not to fast as I have found others. Thanks again

    Might I suggest a slight aleration to your pattern? The round which begins the sides of the bag could be crocheted into the back of the top stitch which would leave a ridge at the edge of the base. Just a thought. BTW thanks for the pattern I'm crocheting it as I watch your excellent instructional video. Thanks.

    This looks like such a fantastic project to do. I am starting it right now. I'm so excited! You make it look so relaxing and fun. I need a basket to carry my yarn with me. It will be more fun making it rather than purchasing. I look forward to a wonderful experience. Thank you for sharing your talent/gift with us.

    Claire, I would really appreciate it if you could help me out. I was wondering if i were to do a video tutorial on (for example) a free Red Heart pattern, would i need permission from Red Heart first? Even if I gave them all the credit for the pattern and I linked to the site for the written pattern. Thanks in advance!

    Great basket, easy directions. Mine is soft and wont stand up on its own like yours. Any suggestions?

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Lauren Mercadante Hello, Tight tension is a must with this project, you want a dense fabric. I think if you yarn is soft it may not help either, a cheaper scratchy yarn will prob work better :)

    One more question and I'll leave you alone. Sorry I'm bugging you! ;( if I connect the circle together like a hat and keep it going till I get to 6 single crochet than an increase. Than do single crochet all around will the bag still come out the same or do I have to do it with connecting?!! Just curious doll. Thank you!

    OK! Now that I've watched Part 2 (Only for like the 50TH Time)-- I see there's nothing wrong with my work--it's supposed to look like this until I do the finishing (slip-stitching around)--so it's all Good :)
    Oh YES, ALMOST FORGOT--MOST IMPORTANT of All what Yarn did u use for this project-I know the colors and worsted using 2 strands (but was it Acrylic Blend or a Wool Cotton Blend, etc.)?

    Hi again Clare, am having trouble with my handles--are they supposed to look so goofy at the base--where they meet with the rest of the bag?? Help!

  • @hollyphillips7597
    @hollyphillips7597 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I put the blue in the handle and around the handles. For some reason there is a big knot on top and not smooth when I slip stitch the ends when join together. When I put chain through loop and pull like always. It looks bad. How can I send a photo to show you?!?

    Clare Sullivan, I just responded to juan carlos maria lopez (in Spanish). I told him that I don't think that your videos can be put into Spanish, as you are in Australia, & also you do these videos voluntarily for free. *I know Spanish because my Mum was from Puerto Rico, but I'm not an interpreter/translator, I'm a Nurse........ ;0 Leila Marcial in USA

  • @hollyphillips7597
    @hollyphillips7597 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a question?!? Do you join into that one single crochet or the 12th one when you come around?!? I made a couple bags and they look great, but they still look like maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'm trying to nip it in the butt lol :D Also another question is why when I'm done with the increasing and keep HDC around that it down not round off to the shape of the basket unless I curve it?!? Just curious thank you. Maybe my tension is to loose idk.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Holly Phillips hi, do you mean the rounds right before the handles? when you are doing the rounds of single crochet only you are going to slip stitch into the first single crochet. for the second question; your basket should grow straight up when working the hdc rounds. if your tension is too loose or too tight it could make it bunch a bit. otherwise it should just grow upward.

    • @hollyphillips7597
      @hollyphillips7597 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I'm sorry I was not specific enough. I meant when you start the ring and connect you. You do a single crochet and then 12 hdc around. Then when you put two hdc in each around do you start in that one crochet loop or ignore that and put two hdc in the 12 around. I'm sorry forgive me. Thank you for the response of the bag going upward. I made the tension tighter after I made the bag as big as I wanted and it is going upward. Thank you so much!
