- Episode 12 of the Caro Kann vs Everything series is here and I play a Colle System in today's game because I think it's incredibly similar to the Caro Kann Defense whilst ensuring it's not too London-esque with Bf4. I might start playing the Colle System more myself since it seems really fun and very solid, also similar to the Caro / Slav defense in many ways so could help to keep studying openings to a minimum - hope you enjoy!

Great video, I've been looking for a new opening and this video showed up on my feed.

A long time ago, for about 6 months, I would go to a park and study, memorize variations from Koltanowski's signed 8th edition book on the Colle...lol. I still use the Colle when Black plays an early e6 such as 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 e6.
I play 1.e6 against d4 religiously, and the system I hate the most is the Colle Koltanowski, by far. Im trying to launch c5 and Qb6 against the London and rip apart the Queenside, but the Colle gives no such chances. I just have to play a normal, equal boring game until I get attacked on the kingside by white. It's really unpleasant and I haven't found a great way to fight for a win in this system.
@@williamhuynh869There is also 1.d4 e6 2.Nf3 f5 but that may not be to everyone's liking.
F5 players are a rare breed but yeh the colle seems incredibly solid with nice long term attacking chances
@@DrakoLykoi yeah Ive been a Benoni styled player for a long time, I always want to throw c5 at the opponent. Im going to learn the engine recommendation of playing in Nimzo-Larsen attack style vs the Colle
