I switched from pens to Cequr Simplicity and I love the freedom of having the patch with the insulin with me all the time but not having the burden of the technology of a pump. I am able to manage really well after a short adjustment tweaking my management to accommodate 2 unit increments. Even though it's not officially approved, I use Fiasp in my patches and it works great! Wonderful product! Keep innovating!
I need too much insulin to switch, I use lyumjev u-200, and I’d be clicking forever lol. Like when I’m shootin 120 units, I would need to click 60 times versus 2 injections from the pen. I’m fascinated by pumps and patches, but I don’t want anything attached to me if it’s not going to do any better than what I do now and no pump can achieve what I have unless you’re on a non fda approved open aps system with better blood sugar parameters. But Medtronic, ilet, tandem, omnipod, they can’t have a resting blood sugar of 83 which is the best a person could have
@@JAG42069 panda expfrsss for instance. Bigger plate and a soda, 3 refills. Most places serving unhealthy food gets me in that range, but I need 1 unit for every 5g of carb. I am very insulin resistant and my whole point was that my demand for insulin is too high and that’s a reason why I could never be on a pump. So you shouldn’t be surprised that I need that much, people have a problem with under bolus anyway, whereas I have impeccable control, my A1C is 4.7, so despite my body’s high demand for insulin, I manage to have a better blood sugar than many non diabetics
i’ve been using this patch for a year, and i love it! i didn’t want a pump (too much technology for me), and this is perfect for me. it’s like wearing your insulin pen. no more injections for mealtime insulin. it’s also easy to do correction doses throughout the day. my last A1c was 5.9 since wearing this patch.
mine is covered by insurance and i have co-pay of $90/month. that is well worth it to me to not have to do injections. your insurance may cover more. google “Cequr Simplicity” and there should be a contact number. they will put you in touch with your local Cequr rep. the rep will work with your doctor and pharmacy to get it for you.

There is another device called the V-Go that is super similar to this. It's a one a day wear though instead of 4. They call it an insulin delivery device as opposed to a patch. Works almost the same I was on it before I got my Omnipod 5. You get a bolus of 2 units with every click along with giving a certain amount of Insulin over a 24 hour period.
I would absolutely love to try this out. I'm T1, but low carb so a pump is a waste of insulin on me, I just don't need that much. But I could see this being really perfect for someone like me. I wish it had a better way to give a smaller dose, but otherwise it looks pretty cool. It would be especially good for those middle of the night high alerts.
You should just inject, but don’t forget that a pump And it’s infusion set could last a week or more, so that amount of insulin would be used if you just used the insulin. Considering there’s no basal insulin anymore, Insulin just keeps withering away. On average, I could be injecting up to 250 units per day because I’m a carb lover, and my A1C is 4.7, so I have excellent understanding
As someone about to start the ilet bionic pancreas (which I watched your video on!) I'd love to see this be capable of being used alongside insulin pumps, especially if there are days where your low on insulin or don't have pens (which I'm currently on) or haven't put on a new pump set this would be a literal life saver! Especially as someone who forgets to bolus before meals 😅. This would be handy, say if your at a restaurant and Don't currently have a pump on or didn't pen bolus then you could just click however much you need right then and there!. Gonna talk with my diabetic doctor about having this as a backup or if it would be possible to have whenever I Don't have my pump or my pump runs out and I can't immediately put a new kit on. Forgetting to Bolis is definitely a pump users problem, because with injections, you really will never forget, but if you did and you use fiasp or lyumjev, you can still stay in range when injecting up to 30 minutes after starting your meal
If you're low on insulin, this wouldn't help because you need to take your insulin and fill this patch in order to use it. Additionally, if you forget to bolus for a meal, this also wont help because it isn't automatic. You have to remember to click it to dose yourself with insulin.. It sounds like a pump might be the best option for you, but if you're low on insulin, this won't help.
Back in the day the very 1st insulin pen was only 2 units at a time. That was when there was only NPH, Regular and a mix of the 2. It was not until later single units came in later. This reminds me of the old pens.
With my experience in Arizona, during the day at noon it is around ~109 °F or ~42 °C on a summer day and it isn't friendly to insulin at night. I've wondered how much danger I am in getting in an even hotter car awaiting for it to cool and travel somewhere, maybe taking 5 minutes to actually have some A/C working well. Anyways, I wondered if the 200u would be safe in this? My T:Slim doesn't have any information on how long it will be safe, so the better I play it staying out of the heat the better. Not a safe place for exposed insulin users. Otherwise without the pump I would carry a water bottle like a HydroFlask with insulin pens, needles, and a cooling insert.
If they did half unit doses, I'd do it immediately! Hopefully that's one of the things in the innovation pipeline. Thanks for doing all these interviews and demos, Justin. For those of us that are new to this and overwhelmed with the choices (and tech in general), it makes the process a heck of a lot easier.

I like the patch idea. I now use Afrezza inhaled insulin. It is pretty discreet and not any more embarrassing to use than an asthma inhaler. It seems that this can be even more discreet. I don’t mind the 2 unit dosage because Afrezza comes in 4 unit dosages, 4,8,and 12. You just get used to when you inhale it. My need is for speed. You said the patch is approved for Humalog, which is a fast acting insulin. I just changed from Lyumjev, which is an ultra fast acting to the Afrezza because Afrezza is even faster acting than Lyumjev. I love the speed. But for someone who doesn't want to inhale, it's a great idea, especially if it is approved for Lyumjev or Fiasp. I have a friend that I think would use it if it is approved for Lyumjev, which she uses now and is USE to.
Very interesting technology. I’m type 1 and use MDIs exclusively. My concern is that this device only delivers 2 units at a time or an even number. What if you need an odd number for a meal, like 3 units? What about 1/2 units. I don’t think I could manage my diabetes as well with this device.
I recently went on a pump but within a short period had to go off due to poor absorption. I’m guessing I’d have the same problem with this device due to the limited wear areas. I’m now using Afrezza but have difficulty with their 4-8-12 dose options.
Why make it to deliver 2 units? Why not half a unit or one unit? I could never wear something like that because my Omnipod delivers tenths of a unit and that is what I need because I'm so sensitive to insulin. It's why I have so many less hypos on the pump than I did on a pen.

I am a pump user, and have recently discovered that after two days of wearing the pump, due to body heat (particularly when skeeping) the insulin degradation forces the need to refill my reservoir with fresh insulin. So, maybe 2 1/2 days max before the insulin has noticably degraded. I wonder if this device would have a similar issue... especially considering it had directly contact with the body compared to my pump. Generally a great idea...but not sure the 4 day wear time is practical with Humalog and Novolog temperature degradation.
That sounds like complete horseshit bullshit, insulin is injected into a 98.6°F body, it does not DEGRADE from body heat, whatever that means. Stop spreading misinformation.

I also sometimes inject an odd number of bolus units rather than 2 unit increments. I am Type 2 and am a post-Whipple procedure patient.
Another commenter raised a question I don't think I was addressed. That is the ambient temperature range to keep the insulin in the patch safe and effective.

I think my only thing would be what kind of adhesive does it use bc I have skin irritation with other overlay stickers. I would love if it's a hypoallergenic latex.
Uhh idk if my insurance is weird or he is just full of it but I have cvs caremark and I can get a 3-month supply of Omnipod 5s for 125, while a of 3-month supply of cequr cost 615, and a 3-month supply of Novolog flexpens is only 33.

Sadly the cots of devices and in some pumps are so high and prize people can’t afford it. That’s why most I saw on swingers and have to stay on swingers all time and it won’t change because the prices will never go down on up and Insurance will not pay . Who knows what they would pay for that device to probably not much either and cost extra. We can’t afford it. I would never change with Diabetes care. sadly for this world. 😢😢😢

No, we still dont have an Artificial Pancreas. We have automated insulin systems that get us into much better range, but still take a lot of user input. We are getting there and I'm excited to see where the innovations lead us in the nest 5-10 years...or I'll take a cure too!

I receive mine 2 week ago I use humolog and lantus pen how do I fill the pump with??

How would you deal with the 2-increment dosing if you need an extra 1 or half of a unit since you're on a low-carb diet?

I put Fiasp in the Cequr Simplicity patch. Works just fine!
I hate that all of these great products are only available in the US, it feels sometimes that diabetics in other countries don't matter.

It sounds good in theory, however, what do you do if you need say 3 units. I like my Inpen where I can do any amount in half units if needed.
