This is how the final boss battle should have looked like! and the weird spike trick should have been a secret, to kill the boss with style. It is weird on too many levels: the way spikes are thrown is unphysical (magical), their size on the floor and on the monster do not match (on the monster they are like 10x more big than on the ground)… and simply too easy/quick once you know how. Seems croteam rushed it.
