Just old school no rs three
I had my 16+ year runescape account evidently hacked, and I could never get it recovered either. I stopped playing around 2011 I think, and checked on it in maybe 2019 or so but couldn't get on. The support team for RS3 really sucks!
Also, yes, interested in RS3 bot busting.
I have seen something similar to the trades with the mint cakes on rs3 except the items the scammers try to get another person to buy are familiar summoning scrolls.

You missed one of worst rs3 bots the Elite dungeon 3 runners. They can max range/mage with cheap supply and all bits always in same items. They go I clear trash ignoring mini bosses except head as can pray mage. The ring teleport to dungeons or war retreat depending how bot set up.
This can make you ton cash while making accounts to sell. From the high alch alone. Per hour without lucky buff from reward shop easily 10-70 mil (more if lucky) and then even more with buff as gives onyx dust ect.
As easy as this is spot. If bots run not on potato computer and using war retreat the bots only show up momentarily at entrance you got catch them in war retreat and inspect them
Spending multiple hours pretending to be someone’s friend just so you can scam them is some psycho behavior
I introduced my cousin to this game when we were like 13 and that's exactly what he did, but I'm almost certain he fell victim, then recruited. And this was runescape classic into rs2 lol. That was his whole scam, befriend you, then steal your shit. Same thing in real life.
I used to do this. It was extremely easy too. It didn't require much effort so I could play the game and over the years collected probably around a few bil.
Definitely psycho behaviour. They obviously aren’t feeling bad for the victim and if they are then they shouldn’t be doing it.

Try like a year+ I had a guy I met in 2005 scam me of a green and blue h'ween in 2006 after we'd been lending each other rares for over a year.
I bumped into him again in early 2007 (above fally shield shop w2) and he was broke as fuck, I had been taught to merchant more proficiently at this point and had 160M and just gave him a torrent of abuse. Mostly for taking the piss over h'ween masks, the cheeky bastard then tried to scam me again.
Jagex banned 55 of the demonic gorilla bots, but also locked a lot more of the hacked accounts that were suspected of being stolen. They usually ban the accounts they think were sold, and lock the ones that were hacked.
They were not hacked. That means someone broke into Jagex. Hijacked is more correct term.

My mate quit his account for years and then logged back on to 600k from 99 mining. The password was not changed. How do they get the passwords in the first place?

I play almost exclusively rs3, but i follow osrs content. I'd love to see this type of video for rs3 as well especially if it makes jagex do something about them.
Theres a well known bot farm at elite dungeon 3, the shadow reef, which teleport into daemonheim to bank and run the first mobbing section of the dungeon for money.
They should hide the gp behind the first boss on ED3.

To explain RS3 DK bots:
A new boss called the Rex Matriarchs (Basically DK's on steroids) drops Hearts that combine with 10 of a specific Ring to make an upgraded variant. They each have higher stats and a cool passive effect fitting the style. The Hearts to make said rings vary in value but the DK Rings to sacrifice for them (Yes it sinks DK Rings from the game) skyrocketed. Particularly the Berserker and Seers Rings greatly increased in value because Reaver's is considered BIS in all combat styles (RS3 Berserker Ring is a Tribrid Ring) and Channelers has some amazing utility for Mage.
I'd been doing DKs with alts till this week and the price took a huuuuuge dive depressing
i bought a few hundred dk rings about 1 or 2yrs ago in rs3 since they were dirt cheap. i anticipated that they may become relevant in the future and so when i logged in after about 1 yr they had skyrocketed. its by far my best flip ever and i ended up with a profit of aprox 800m

For runescape 3 bots please look at the rev bots, they are always in full dh, if they spot you (and they will, like an area spotter or something) they teleport to edge then run back up.

One thing I can say about rs3 is similar to buying infernal capes, there’s a market for people that buy a golden title called “the Warden.” It’s from a boss called telos which has an enrage system giving it a scaling difficulty, and the golden title is rewarded when you defeat it at its max enrage. Not a lot of investigation has gone into it, but I personally suspect that hundreds of people have bought the title.
People in my clan sell these titles for roughly 300-500m per hr so yes I can confirm this is a real thing.
Zuk capes and other boss kills are also being sold. especially ironman leeches.

bought the warden for 500m, bought all 3zuk capes for 200m ea, took me 3hours solo ed2 to make it all back i wasted first 500hours before i went to this path never banned for it, so totally worth it xd
the biggest market on rs3 is based on ironmode, tons of people like to flex things they never actually did, i made over 16k from feeding iron's full nex logs

Where a lot of bots are in RS3 is the elite dungeons. Think revenants, with drops that can be turned directly into cash without needing to sell anything on the GE, but also non-PVP and instanced so nobody can see you except when you need to start a new instance.
Specifically killing ed3 (shadow reef) mobs up to the first boss, they tp out, reset the dungeon and head back in.

Runescape 3 bots: elite dungeon 3 (out of control) sophanem slayer dungeon (merely annoying), f2p wilderness crater (reportedly) are the most well known ones.
Since there are so many instanced areas nowadays, however, most bots are hidden from sight until they go bank.
Yup, simple bots get obliterated on rs3 in no time at all, so the only ones left are instanced ones that are more advanced now. It's wild what some of them do now that they can avoid anyone seeing them.
Lots of mining rune and luminite bots in rs3, and smithing and hammer collecting

OSRS: Bots in mass so much that they rival the actual number of real players, and easy to just replace banned ones making it impossible to get rid of the problem.
RS3: Not nearly as many bots but those around are hard to find. Making it very hard to get rid of the problem.
Yeah I'd love to see more RS3 bot-finding. The DK bots are definitely there for the rings since there's current high-end rings crafted from 10 DK rings of the same type + a modern boss drop.

The activity log is actually a great feature, I didn’t know it existed as I’m exclusively an osrs player but it definitely helps to be certain of nefarious behaviour if you suspect an acc of being botted

The types of Rs3 bots out there would be interesting to see. I know Jagex cracked them quite a lot before but with mobile they are starting to get more common.

Hey Sir Pugger, there's been something strange happening in the catacombs. Every time I run past the greater demons that are north of the main entrance and directly north of the mutated bloodvelds there seems to be a bot there with overheads on that immediately logs as soon as you get in map range. Do you think they're mining shards to farm Skotizo?
I'd love to see some bot busting in RS3. I know a really hot one right now is the corrupted creatures in Sohpanem, the sister city to menaphos, which now has a slayer dungeon that is super easy to afk in for well over 8m/hr + luck for good drops, and all you need is bandos gear, a saradomin godsword, and aggression potions for making the mobs aggro to you. There's a world dedicated to portables, basically place nearly anywhere stations that you can skill at and have bonuses like multiplying your potions made or duplicating gems cut, construction on demand, or even tanning hides right next to a bank (you still have to pay but it's 1 tick vs running back and forth) The world is almost nearly always at the 1500 player limit, and the area just N of the lumbridge castle where everyone congregates is always jam packed with people, but although there's so many people, there is almost no discussion going on, at least not 1500 people worth of chitchat. Another bot farm that is probably still going on is elite dungeons 3 mob running. Mid level magic bots run the first 1/3 of the dungeon right by the dungeoneering place, take the valuable drops out of the auto-depositing drop chest, and high alch them at the dungeoneering bank. Each valuable drop is 1M ea, and at moderate levels, that can be many mils per hour. They always wear purple "batwing" gear as it's cheap but effective.
Something that I'm curious about with RS3 bots is how the effect the economy. With the rs3 community usually being longer term players, or maybe just whales buying their skills, I get the slight inkling that the bots might just be proping up the game. No one wants to do meanial tasks like making potions or cooking for hours on end, but High end PvM requires so many supplies that without bots supplying them there would be big drops in content for those tasks.
I don't even play Runescape any more but I gotta say this was a pretty intriguing story in this video, well played!
An RS3 bot video sounds like a lot of fun, but I don't recall them being as rampant as in OSRS.
You pretty much don't actually SEE any bots in rs3 now, not at all like osrs where you can find them absolutely anywhere, but it's because most content worth doing in rs3 is instanced. The only time to see them is banking or before they start a new instance most of the time, so it could be pretty hard to see.
YES PLEASE DO RS3 CONTENT! It's super interesting to see stuff like that for both games. There is a pretty nasty bot farm in f2p for minning (go to burthorpe or just the GE you'll see 100s of them), and also bots doing what is called an ED3 Trash Run (Elite Dungeon 3 runs that only go part way for best xp/gp per hour with minimal requirements). Love to see ya discover some :)
It’s insane how long these bots can last to finally get banned, while I’m sitting here with my 1800+ total account permabanned because of autoalching ror 2 hours per week.
I remember when the trade limit was introduced and people were using mint cakes as an alternate currency. They were worth very little in the trade window but held a high street value. So some rare trading still continued using mint cakes as a substitute for GP.
Jagex needs to fix their botting problem, this is actually getting out of hand
For rs3 bots most of them are at ascension creatures to get keys for adcesnsion crossbows or maybe aberrant spectres. Finally cursed energy f2p and p2p players can both access it. It is in wilderness level 18-21 north of thr wilderness loadstone
They updated how gathering chances are done for divination, and gathering cursed in f2p sucks now, all but killing off the suicide botting of cursed, they're now mostly mining or smithing or mining and wetting clay for f2p now
And getting banned in like one day

SOOOOO many Vyrewatch thieving bots. Every world usually has at least 1-2 directly south of the Darkmeyer altar. All of them have over 99 thieving with many having 50m+ exp

the GE buy limit scam has also BLOWN up in RS3. i dont play RS3 only OSRS but you still have to be careful. This is just another example of bad people taking advantage of something a real person might ask. I think you should help ppl with buylimits if they ask for it but only for real items people might need for example runes, ores, logs and common food .... do NOT help someone buy mint cakes or anything that you dont know an accurate price for.
The fact that people buy an item for someone without that person giving them the money first is mind blowing to me lol. I've bought plenty of items for people but never without them giving me the money for the items first.
Someone tried it to me in 2008(?) when summoning came and asked to buy shitty summoning scrolls. I was a kid but even then I had common sense that it was suspicious.

I played Ironman for about 3-4 years then I was going to go back to my main, got b gloves, some quests, saw how botted deamonic gorillas was, saw how botted d war hammer was, can’t bring myself to play when all the PVM solo money-making is so botted so it’s not really even worth the time doing it
It’s sadly a losing battle.
It’s bad enough that the osrs team is smaller than the RS3 team.
But even with a significant work force dedicated to anti bot prevention, it wouldn’t solve the problem.
This is due mostly to the fact that creating cheap bots en mass is so easily done, creating gigantic bot farms all over the place.
They get banned? That’s fine, the botter just makes another 50 in a week or so to do it all over again.
The majority of botters are mass botters because they aren’t doing it for gp to use, they doing it for gp to sell for real world money from foreign countries that have shitty money value.
Jagex should just ban the game in the countries that cause most of this but they won’t Cuz all the Membership makes them money.

If you Set your Game to German there are some Bots in the night at the wilderness vulkano farming Energy you can easy kill them because they are low CB and you can kill everyone with this specific Energy in inventory.

@@Efl0wProdz he didn't pay 615m. The scammer put an offer in for this item no one cares about and slowly bought a tonne of them. An example of this would be crude chair flatpacks no one makes them and no one sells them so on GE u can get em for 1gp every now and then but if u suddenly buy all of the ones on the ge (again, there is most likely none on there) and then continuously sell and buy between your accounts at a very high price so that the ge updates that it is trading for the high price (you are the only one buying and selling at that price but literally the only one buying or selling so it uses the price u choose)
Then he convinces someone that the fake price he has made the GE say is the actual price that people buy and sell for and sells them to someone else for that price instead of just trading them back and forth to himself. Now, no one is buying the chairs anymore, they are back to 1gp no one makes or want them, u are left with nothing and he turned his 1gp chairs into whatever price he chose.

You can also see bots with sins of the father requirement stats at the tob bank, they teleport in wearing a thieving cape, go to 1 tile in front of the left banker then bank at the middle banker then teleport away. Regularly they have 50-100m thieving experience.

Rs3 bot busting please!
DK rings became useful again in RS3 with the release of the Rex Matriarchs, which drop an item that you combine with 10 of one of the original DK rings to make a new BiS ring - one for each type of original. The berserker ring (for the hybrid BiS ring) and the Seer's Ring (for the new Magic BiS ring) are especially valuable, so I could see those bots making 20m+/h doing DKs, even if they are just safespotting Rex.
The RS3 economy is more or less 10-20x inflated compared to the OSRS economy, so you could consider that a 1-2m/h OSRS gp money maker for intuitive comparison.

Lmfao he fell for that! Ge limit scans are so easy to beat/profit on. They have you buy ge limits of actually items and they pay you well higher then what you paid. That’s when they ask you to buy some type of bullshit item. So don’t be an idiot just walk away and laugh at them lol
If you feel inclined to do rs3, go for it. My favorite bot that I've seen in the past few months was a few accounts (at least partially) completed Rum Thief, so they could go through the super slow dialogue to get raw chicken from the crate in Port Sarim.
Also "Pay to earn keys that I got for free." The fact that you sounded like you were shaming treasure hunter, but you went along and used the *free* keys? If you don't like it, don't interact with it. I know, I know. You don't care about RS3. I mainly play RS3 and have never used real money to buy keys, but I do participate in treasure hunter. I just find it annoying that it seems more common for OSRS players to rag on RS3.

On fosil island in almost every world there is a volcanic ash mining bot with 90 + mining
Been training agil for a while on the earlier floors of sepulchre waiting for 92 and hoping for a big payout with a ring. Sad the bots are eating away at its value along with all the other items they crash. As always cheers for bringing attention to these.

RS3 bot farms I've seen myself are at archaeology material sites (hellfire metal, all level 3's with level 100+ arch.) and ED3 trios (they use daemonheim ring and all have similar mage gear). Theres actually a lot of different bots but harder to find/spot them compared to osrs.
An rs3 bot video would be a fun "change" curious what goes on there haha :)

I had a similar experience, i quit the game for a little bit and came back and noticed my account had been banned for botting. In my 15 years as a gamer i have never had an account get hacked and ive quit many times, but this was the only time ive been hacked and the only difference was that i decided to install Runelite a month before i quit. This isnt something I know for sure, but im suspicious that someone is monitoring credentials passing through Runelite and picking up "stale" accounts from people that have quit to then empty their banks and use their accounts for botting.
Few weeks ago saw ton of bots on f2p worlds mining by the champions guild,they log out if you come near them. But shortly they log back in.

I would love to see some rs3 bot busting, I did see a couple of identical looking accounts wielding decimation while doing high level arch spots in Kharid-Et which I thought was weird but after some world hopping I haven't been able to see any others

As a RS3 player who watches your bot busting videos while AFKing, I'd _love_ a dedicated RS3 video. I know Cursed Energy bots are still a thing and you _can_ PK them, if you need a lead.
