Once i was Kid i thought in the future everyone would have drove Ed Straker car. Suddenly 50 years later the electric veicles are much more similar to a plastic fridge with wheels.
they use the term "SOL" (Speed Of Light) followed by the appropriate multiple - in this case the UFO is travelling at "SOL 8" or 8 times the speed of light - or about 1.5 million miles per second - 🛸✨
@@FandersonUfo Yeah. I figured that out when I originally watched the show as a kid (when it first came out.... I'm old! Lol). It was the reason I learned the speed of light value of 186,282.397 miles per second. And my country cousins couldn't grasp the fact that a little kid could do math & spout of scientific information. Lol
I beg to differ. Yes, it has a nice early 70ies vibe, and a pleasant design with respect to 'pseudo-modern' couture, interior design, and vehicle shapes. But the 'aliens' are just as crappy as the ones in the early TOS Star Trek. And because of the story line, it is mono-thematic - having only one topic: the secret war between SHADO and the green aliens. Which left not much wiggle room for stories on the side track. Contrast that with TOS. Between a couple of SCIFI techno operas, you'll find stories, that use all the scenery only as a backdrop for human interest stories as well as political education.
@@Misophist We all have our opinions and while I love Star Trek you have to admit they had some really ridiculous stories especially towards the middle of the 2nd season onwards the quality just went downhill. I mean chasing aliens halfway across the galaxy to get Spocks brain back? And the aliens in Star Trek were just humans in bad makeup. And the Enterprise was getting stolen every other episode? At least UFO kept the ridiculous stuff to a minimum and had stories that were more plausible in the confines of the premise of the show. Star Trek had better special effects but UFO had better stories and it was mostly because it was focused on an overarching theme. The best Star Trek stories were the ones that were plausible within the premise of the series without all the nonsensical stuff like meeting the Greek God Apollo or Abraham Lincoln
