Guy’s the shaker is actually functional, there’s a tube that feeds air from the shaker behind the filter, if you take the shaker off, you can see a hole towards the right top corner.
At the prices they are charging for these, it is a shakedown indeed

The shaker is functional. There is a tube that runs from it to filter housing. You can see the opening behind the filter.

GM just invested in a new V8 family of engines, Ford still has a couple of V8s lurking around, JLR has some V8s in unreliable cars and Toyota is still trying to push luxury cars with V8s. Go show your support for the V8 by buying up these cars.

The Shaker IS a functional air-intake, & the headlight IS NOT (though you can make it functional w/ a $50 OEM Hellcat piece). Just had to pedantically clarify that surprising double error, by double dudes!! ❤
Also, solid motor mounts would shake the entire car more, but the shaker less. Ok I’ll see myself out ✌️🚶🏻♂️💨

But there is a normal intake tube and cone filter in front of the engine? What exactly does the shaker intake do, I can't really tell by the shots they put in the video
@@Striballthere is a second duct through the back of the cone air filter that goes from the shaker to the filter. It is shown in the video, so I can’t believe they missed it

I own a Scat Pack Challenger with a shaker hood and I’ve been a subscriber since the beginning. It breaks my heart to watch Jakub and Yuri say that the shaker hood isn’t functional. It is. It may not make more power on paper than a non shaker car but there are benefits. Also that headlight duct is not an intake. I know there’s a bunch of comments on this but I couldn’t sleep at night until I made my own 😂
Two more thoughts. It might seem obvious but I feel like the 8 speed auto trans makes the car feel faster than the manual. And both 392’s they’ve reviewed have been manuals. Also, the shakedown concept this was based off of was a Challenger 🫢😰
@717xcrunner well normally ppl that buy a manual (few ppl that do) is really bout control of the vehicle..Automatic definitely feels fast but.. i would definitely get a manual cus 70 to 80% thieves dont know know how to drive a manual
But they literally showed inside of it and it clearly leads to nothing. And they also showed inside of the empty headlight air duct leading towards the intake. Soooo… are you sure?😂
Hellcat air box base and tube extension makes the headlight intake functional. Easy mod. Lowers intake temps if you dont have a shaker. Other intakes pull from below the car.
The manual is also a 390 gear ratio. Much dif from the 8 speed auto the 390 really gets it out of the hole well.
I can't believe this is supposed to be replaced by "E-muscle".
It's a bit like replacing Red Meat with grass, just doesn't work.

End of an era. I used to be able to fix my truck myself; change oil, spark plugs, filters etc. Driving a laptop on wheels just doesn't feel the same, even if it's faster and quieter. RIP V8!

It may not have hit many yet but, we're definitely living in a historical event right now with the the charger and challenger. Imagine in 100 years the hellcats are brought up and how people who owned them were menaces to society and insanely fun these cars are, definitely a time to be alive right now!
The "shaker hood" actually does work. It provides a bit more cold air than a normal intake. There's some intake piping that goes from under the hood intake to the normal intake.
I was NOT "lucky" enough to get one of them. I inquired at several dealerships and I am disgusted that dealers are doubling-tripling factory recommended prices on the last call series. I was told 250-300k for the Black Ghost, "up to 500k" for the 170. (In Canada) Dodge shouldn't allow this level of greed. It hurts the brand as they are asking a fair price. A couple extra (or 10s of) grands would be ok, but this is outrageous. I am NOT lucky enough, but won't ever buy a stellantis vehicle ever again.

Just brought one of these home yesterday. I'm a mom of 3 and my dad taught me manual many years ago on a Mustang gt. I've wanted one of these for years so i could continue the tradition. I agree, the gears are loose and i too kept accidentally downshifting on the interstate yesterday lol. It finally started "clicking" today. My ventilated seats work great btw! Our butts were icy cold in 95 F today lol. Great review!
Edit: the shaker does ventilate the engine through the back right side... it's not just hood candy. The engine configuration is different on the shaker.

It will never be last call for me and my family. Enthusiast for life here... If I have to buy used Muscle Cars, so be it.. The 392 has plenty of streetable horsepower and torque.
Take away gas engines and I'll quit driving. Hard to believe what's happening in the world of cars. Biden would have us all locked into electric cars without enough chargers so they can control us through electricity. If things keep going this way you'll have to get person points just to be able to own a car like the ccp does in China.

The scats will hold their value more than the hellcats bc the hellcats are leased for a month by people that have a 300 credit score and bring them to takeovers and basically wreck them. I got lucky when I got mine I paid sticker

That's embarrassing. The 2024 5.0 has one more horsepower than a 392 cubic inch engine😂. Dodge should have sent it out with more horsepower.

I think the Shaker is functional as a secondary intake, along with the cone filter.
The shaker pulls in air TO the cone filter... It's not separate. The air from both intakes meets there.

Us car enthusiasts have really spoiled these last 5-10 years with SO many super cool cars being released, like the Hellcat and the Demon. It’s too bad this is the end of the road for the V8 Challenger & Charger, but let’s just be happy that Dodge made all of those beasts in the first place!! Traded in my 2021 scat pack for the Shakedown. It's truly a beautiful spec. Lots of fun while still being usable. "Old car, still around" is a good way to put it. Nothing has changed from the 2021 that i had, but it's still got the right amount of charm.
I was upset about V8s dying until I bought an E55 wagon like Jakub's. Thing gets like 10MPG in the city. Worth it, but I can't imagine many people tolerating that
The shaker IS functional, it's the shifter. You do the shakedown while it's in gear, as Jakub demonstrated.
I had my black one delivered a month ago, 6 speed, widebody, the only way to go.

The Shaker is functional. @ 3:00, notice that there is a hole in the air filter box, on the left rear corner. That is where the hose from the Shaker feeds into the air box.

I like Mopar vehicles but I like the cars themselves, not necessarily the brand. There's nothing keeping me as a "Mopar guy" if the products no longer match my own preference.
They have been building this same exact car in this configuration for TEN YEARS. Anyone who buys these "limited edition" packages at these prices is literally in the single digit IQ range.

All these car companies deserve to lose, I worked for 2 dealerships as a salesman but since I started Hellcats used to cost $60k new now they're about $100k, Power Wagons were about 53k now they're about $80k.
I understand the chip shortage but design around it but frankly this is what happens when you outsource production to other countries and become dependent on them, it isn't that the U.S. can't make them, it's that they don't want to make them.
And there's no way in HELL those chip shortages should increase prices by $30-40k on premium vehicles.
About $7k I can understand, even $10k is too far.
The V8 will NEVER be dead as long as REAL car guys exist.
Literally the first mod for a scat pack manual is the Barton short shifter. As someone who has a the car in the scat pack version. You get use to the power and you end up add mods just to try to squeeze more power out of it
And skip shift eliminator.
The shaker is functional and its part of CAI system. It directs air to the cone filter that also takes air from the headlight and bottom of the fender. I have a 2016 shaker with a 440ci in it on solid engine mounts and that removes the shaking of the shaker unfortunately. On Oem mounts you can see it tilt to the side when you apply throttle.
And they just unveiled a 8th edition, the mopar edition. They just keep on giving lol

I picked up my Last Call 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee last week. I would let you guy’s review it since I do live in the same area however no burnouts lol those 315 nitto street legal drag radials aren’t cheap.
Guys you do realize the 392 is not worth the money dealerships are asking
1) cannot accept boost
2) small gains for extremely high cost.
3) trade in value is horrible

My FAVORITE "Last Call" is my own personal 2023 Challenger 1320. TorRed with leather/alcantara seats with the Plus interior package, and of course an 8 speed auto ( only way the 1320 is available).

Thanks guys! We've had a 2007 Chrysler 300C SRT Design (5.7L HEMI only) and really loved it for travel, towing, and performance. Too bad the body is rusting here in Toronto. Seeing these last V8s is exciting and sad. But, the future for our kids, grandkids, and beyond should still be exciting with its 'Fratzonic' pipe organ. Lotsa love to all. ❤❤❤
All the people complaining about the price of the last call vehicles were never gonna be able to afford one anyway!!!! Stop complaining. Instead, become a disruptor inside and out. That way, the price of most of what you want would not be a problem. Some things, no matter how much money you make, can't be bought. Either way, people need to improve themselves instead of complaining about how things used to be but will never be again. We have to adapt or get left behind in the ice age. God bless.🙏🏿

Personal opinion here. I think the v8 will make a comeback in due time. I personally believe we're a good 20-30 years away from going full electric. We don't have the infrastructure here in America yet alone the world for such a change. I think a hybrid v8 or something along that line would be the way to go or even a new fuel that's eco friendly and low cost to run these crazy engines.
We will be back to v8s as soon as majority of world wakes up from yet another mass psychosis and realize governments are pushing EVs for specific reason and that is not saving our planet.
