Fun fact! : scar, taka. was actually bitten by a snake, he was tricked by a lion and the lion had a snake nearby, the lion planned to make taka do something in return for the lion to remove the venom. Taka however, disoriented by the scar, attacked and killed the lion, thinking he'd be praised he headed back and told mufasa, mufasa simply gave him a nickname. After that incident he started to become more and more disoriented by the scar, till eventually he was driven insane to the point of evil. Killing his close friends, (members of the lion guard) making him lose his roar, that was powerful enough to kill the entire pride. Thus the arc began..

He used to be the leader of the past lion guard and he ventured outside of the pride lands and found another lion and that time scar was jealous of mufasa and he thought he should be king (scar) he found a lion outside the pride lands and the lion said he could help him but had to do smthing for him and to make sure that scar did do what the lion did ask him to do the lion made his friend a snake bit scar giving him his scar and the lion would give him the antidote to the scar to make sure he did it

I prefer the version where Scar challanged Mufasa over Sarabi and that is how he got his scar. I have my own version where Scar, who was originally named Mlinzi because it means guard, and his position was Lion Guard leader. After Mlinzi killed Ahadi, Uru scratched Mlinzi in a fit of rage, renaming him Scar as a representation of his trechary.

Not to be a know it all, but he actually got his scar from a cobra when he’s was about halfway grown, after mufasa was already king and the venom from the cobra caused him not to know right from wrong and scar (Taka, is his real name) took it personally when Mufasa nicknamed him scar. It’s still funny, but I figured I would put that little factoid out there for anybody truly wondering why.

That’s not how Scar got Scarred. In the Lion Guard which is canon, he got tricked by another scarred lion and got the scar from a venomous snake. Scar told Mufasa but Mufasa didn’t quite care and just nicknamed him Scar so Scar told the Lion Guard about his plan to kill Mufasa but they didn’t want to follow Scar anymore as their leader so he destroyed them doing The Roar at them but then he lost the mark of the guard because he betrayed them. But I liked the video
