This is the second song I am learning with my jazz piano teacher. I have been learning (jazz) piano for 7 months now. You killed this song! Thanks a lot.
Bravissimo! I tip my hat to you! Some amazing stuff going on there, Jeremy. I'd love a breakdown of some of the lesser obvious techniques you're using.
hi Jeremy I have a request: in your book JAZZ PIANO FUNDAMENTALS that I love, you talk about bossa nova and samba rythms. How about other comping styles? Could you make a lesson over the most important ones?
Hi there! Thanks for the suggestion. What other styles are you interested in? I do have a couple videos out about comping, including one focusing on modal styles - th-cam.com/video/618IlFt0uho/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/UV477F8RpK0/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/AN2tVoSBU2A/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/JfRTBqrK48U/w-d-xo.html are good places to get started.
Good catch! This is a version of an A7(b9). I think the G# is the only weird one. It just adds a little color as a tone that can slide down to G as the 11th of the Dm11. (the Bb is the b9, the A is the root)

Tocando!
Wow, you made it to the end - I’m impressed. Thanks for watching and listening!
what's going on at 2:38? A, G# and Bb all in the same chord? sounds hip as hell but what is it (the tocando chord)

When re-listening, just noticed that starting at 04.58 the melodic motive reminds me of Grieg’s theme, is it just coincidence or a kind of quote?
Tocando.
Thanks for watching, Familia Gonzalez!
Also, check out Jazz Piano fundamentals…worth it
Thanks, Luyanda!
Most likely nothing you can do but, wanted to let you know (if you didn't already) there's some digital "jitter" every once in a while
Good to know - thanks, Bill!
@@JeremySiskind No problem. You're welcome.
I really wanted to enjoy this but there are audio problems that made that impossible.
Sorry, Barry! I’ll keep working to do better. :)
I appreciate your patience.
At minute 5.30 you look Bach
