    In just a few years, Marcus Sharf has grown his sneaker business, Hyp Miami, from a side-hustle into a go-to destination for shoe collectors that brings in a 7-figure yearly revenue. He’ll share how to start a sneaker reselling business in this episode.
    Like many teens, Marcus’ parents wanted him to get a job when he turned 14. He started selling things from around their house to finance his sneaker collection. After he sold his first pair of Nikes for $300, he realized this could be more than a hobby-and Hyp Miami was born.
    Hyp Miami started as an online business, opening its first brick-and-mortar store in 2022. Marcus will share how he connected with customers to grow his online sales, and his unique strategies for building buzz around his brand.
    We’ll also hear how he used those profits to open up his retail store and the challenges of pivoting from online-only to a brick-and-mortar. Maybe the most impressive thing: Marcus built this business while still in college. We’ll learn how he managed his time to balance school with being an entrepreneur and what systems he’s put in place to keep both his stores and his online wholesale business running smoothly.
    Getting your hands on rare new sneakers can be a challenge in and of itself. Marcus will explain his strategy to securing this in-demand inventory, both from online vendors and at sneaker conventions. Negotiation skills are a big part of his success, and he’ll talk about how he learned those and his advice for other aspiring entrepreneurs who want to become better negotiators.

      How did you call that thing where the shoe float

  • @hansonel

    “No silver spoon, no trust fund.”
    Kind of odd to say that right at the start when his father, as others pointed out, is Roman Sharf who founded a luxury watch company and is worth over $100 million dollars…. This is worth repeating since it gives him a huge leg up, connections to suppliers, mentorship etc…
    Not trying to hate either, go him! But also let’s be realistic. He most likely isn’t as self made as he makes himself out to be.

    • @UpFlip
      @UpFlip  ปีที่แล้ว +10

      No hate, either. We appreciate all comments and feedback. While it's common knowledge that he's the son of a millionaire, we can't ignore the hard work he's been putting into his business. We do have mad respect for the kid. 🙌

    • @UpFlip
      @UpFlip  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Absolutely. What we like about him is his transparency. He openly credits his parents' support. While many in his shoes opt for the easy ride, he chose entrepreneurship.

      That's not remotely true.
      You are simply expressing marxist indoctrination that has programmed you to resent and criticize successful offspring of successful people.
      He succeeds because he is positive, optimistic, self-reliant, monetizes his own interests, and is persistent.
      To say his dad is his "main reason" is odious and discriminatory.
      It's a truly sick society that will engage in the widespread condemnation of people simply because THEIR PARENTS WERE MORE PROSPEROUS AND CREATIVE THAN YOURS were and than you are now.
      That's what this is about: covering up a negative self-image and the indolence, laziness, and ignorance associated with it.

      No, we're not forgetting where he came from, and it appears he hasn't either. However, we can't ignore the hard work he's putting in. It's worth noting that there are many teenagers from affluent families who don't make the most of their advantages.

    No hate on the kid, but his dad (Roman Sharf) has a company in the watch industry that generates $150,000,000+ a year. I only state this because you said in the beginning "no silver spoon and no trustfund." Now you have the facts.

I still have shoes i bought over 10 years ago not touched. However, its actually how i begin my business of shoe resale and custom shoes and appeal as well as upscaling name brand clothes considered "retro". Anyway, long story short i bought a pair of up tempos in tiffany blue for under 200$, went to put them on THEY DIDNT FIT! So, i looked them up and used the were going 680$ and up. So now not only do i continue to be able to do and collect what i love. I make good money and support my family doing so. I'm trying to research the whole supreme brand next.
