    As a man, as a son, as a father, as an African, as hue-man being, I am grateful for this brother's of wisdom. He got me teary eyed just listening to him, very wise man. Perfect example of the saying: "...never judge a book by its cover." I salute you, OG, much and respect. All the way from Angola, Africa.

    This guy is real talk. I've heard about the inner city plantations. It's a really thing. Look at any major city, crime plagued minority neighborhoods, gangs, drugs, corruption, bad school, etc. You don't pick where you're gonna grow up. Unfortunately if you grow up in an area like that statistically there's a much greater chance you'll end up dead or in a cell. That said, I think we're also living historically in the best time for people to break out from that vicious cycle. More and more minority's are becoming successful. I'm not just talking about athlete's and musicians but regular middle class people, school teachers, plumber, business owners, whatever. If you want a big house, nice car, expensive clothes, etc. The best way to get it is to work hard. It will take a lot of hard work and a long time but it's sure as hell better than getting shot or locked up. I believe everyone should be given another chance, most of the guys I see on this series are good people who made some mistakes and at one point or another turned it around and better themselves.

    My first time seeing this interview. This man is an OVERCOMER. He was my love after this interview. I want the world to know he's also a good guy even if he plays "The Bad Guy" in Hollywood. He was still talking the same about wanting to help children. He and I have similar experiences. I was placed in foster care by my mother at age 12. I came from a good family with a great stepfather who taught me how a man treats a woman and his daughters. But a mother with a secret about who my biological father was. My biological father told me he was my father right before I was placed in foster homes. Although my mother and I have healed today I went through hell. I was locked down in juvenile twice, went to jail multiple times. But my God today I am much better. When I met this man he helped push me to a better version of myself. I want the world to know I LOVE, honor, adore and RESPECT him, Xango Henry aka Mohtown OG. If you see him tell him there's no side of him that'll stop👑Qween Goddesz, Ayanna Asante from being loyal to him and loving him.

    Impressive & informative about growing up in an environment of which some of us, have not had the exposure or this type of experience. Mr Henry has provided us with a real & raw dialog so that we can live vicariously via his travails! I applaud him for allowing us to garner a little bit of what it's like as a 10 year old on the streets of Detroit! What was I doing @ 10 years old? I was taking Piano, Ballet, Baton Twirling lessons, going to the Community Center to go swimming, attending Brownies & Girl Scout meetings, etc. Mr. Henry, thank you for allowing us to "Walk a mile in your Moccasins" & seeing a real "Phoenix Rising from the Ashes"! Kudos to you overcoming you darkness!

    True OG and a deep philosopher .Younger generation can learn from him. You dont need a phd or Masters as Society puts it to learn. People like him is what we need to learn from especially from the hood. Give him a badge and a gun hell get more respect then giving one to some 24 year old white kid from the burbs who never a day steppped into the hood and never knew what it was to struggle or know where food was coming from that day. But of course thats not the way society is but maybe thats the way we need to start going to solve some of these issues we are having in society.

  • @user-oe8db4bv5m
    @user-oe8db4bv5m 9 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    Oddly fascinating. He's more than just a guy who's been through some serious shit... Even more so, he's someone that young at-risk kids might actually listen to. I went to a pretty wild high school and I can say that 80% of the class would often boo and disrespect the 3 piece suit wearing speakers that came to offer inspiring words. I doubt that would happen if this guy came to speak. Just telling a lost kid that what he's doing is wrong isn't going to change anything. The kid has to be interested first, then maybe you'll get to him.
    I'm no professional. just my thoughts.

    Some of the deepest, most profound shit I have heard in my lifetime has come from men/women who have educated and reformed themselves after doing long state/federal bids. I worked in corrections straight out of college and learned a lot about how similar my white, blue collar world was to many of the dudes that were locked up. My dad and mom had the same type of approach as this gentleman and it's what kept me FREE.
    Mohtown OG, I am proud to be in the same species as you, my friend. I hope you are , on a daily basis, spreading your wisdom and knowledge to all people regardless of age, race or gender. Never mind scared straight! This type of enlightenment is what at risk youth need. Your children are lucky to have you in their life. Peace, my brother!

    He's a real ☝. It ain't hard to tell even through a plastic screen. Love listening to the real. I know what its like. Sometimes it takes a man to go through trial either willing or unwilling to come through and teach the truth to man. Love this video.

    If you just look past the ripped shirt and muscles, this guy really had a lot to say and it all made sense to me. If you are influenced by the wrong people at an early age it can have a serious impact on the outcome of your future but if you are strong enough mentally you can overcome that negative influence and that is exactly what he did.
