    What do they use the money for? Is it that they really get and misuse them or they don't get at all? And if they don't get at all , what do they do as a government who is ruling a country? We are even going to stop sending monies, coz everyone is planning to move their families from Ghana there. Useless leadership.

      Ghana is rich in what? Cocoa, gold, and oil? That is less than $15billion for a population of 33million. Ghana is not rich.

    In the country called Ghana, there is no expert anywhere. All the PHD holders in finance and law, cannot implement anything not to talk of letting them think and come up with a solution. that would be too hard for them.
    Even for these Phd holders to go their counterparts like Kenya to learn what they do and replicate same in Ghana, they can't do that too.
    just a bunch of useless people with degrees walking about and wasting state money.
    The country Ghana cannot implement anything from and see it run through for at least 36 months.

    It's easy to see what's going on. BOG in collusion with the Banks and fintechs under report remittances (WB vs BOG figures),BOG Print lots of cedis in exchange for hard currency. They keep printing cedis to buy USDs, so Cedi depreciates against USD. The hard currencies never enter the Ghanaian economy, but its stored abroad. Hence the double digits inflation in Ghana. These crooks will blame the black market "which is the real economy" for Cedis depreciation. The party in power knows they are going into opposition for 8 years. So they are stashing those USDs abroad for the party and it's cronies. Forget about Mr DICHOTOMY's explanation.

      Politicians are using fintechs to siphon their booties out of the country.

    With all due respect, the journalist should focus on drawing the graphs and allow the experts to do analysis. How can you tell me this stories? remittances increasing inflation? Mr. Journalist, remittances do not increase the amount of cedis in circulation, hence it doesn't increase inflation.

    This been going on for years government officials stealing money. What needs to happen is people have to be prosecuted and the rules we put in place needs to be enforced. You and by prosecuting and jailing people. From ministers to mps to local officials and government workers. You jail these people all of the corruption will. I am telling start enforcing the law against everyone doesn’t matter their status in the country and this stealing end

      There’s no corruption anywhere with respect to the remittances. The problem is that the transfer apps are owned by foreign companies. The solution is for the bank of Ghana to develop it own app and offer a competitive rate.

      @@ebenezerduah664 lol, so how does the foreign companies gets cedis in exchange for USD, if BOG isn't involved? There is corruption everywhere, you can't see it because it's above your pay grade.

    • @JoshuaAdu
      @JoshuaAdu 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ebenezerduah664obviously there's corruption somewhere. How do the fintechs fund the cedi leg on the transactions. It doesn't matter if it foreign owned or not. You need cedis back home to pay people? The politicians and big men take the Forex and give them cedis to fund their operations. Unless the fintechs have a pile of cedis stashed somewhere there's no way they can run this model.
