Putting consistency at first when building a routine and lifestyle is so important. This change has completely changed my life and it's all credits to this man!
I used to have a collection of trainers worth £3k+ and clothes would be all I spent my money on, then I got a job as a gardener and after being in cargos, tshirt and safety boots all day I just prefer it, It's more comfortable, practical and simple. Even out of work, so I bought a pair of the same boots i have for work just without the steel toe cap and sold 98% of my clothes and shoes. I'll definitely do simple workouts like you suggest, seems a lot easier than tracking what day is what
COVID for sure was no fun, but in the end, it reset me and my partnerˋs life so much, that we lead now a totally different life. No more three of four times per week go out with friends, no more theater, movies, concerts constantly but every once in a while. Furniture, books, clothes, minimalized. Rather one or two beautiful and meaningful vacations instead of many weekend trips plus a few large trips over the year. Plant based diet - in a way minimalist with regards to meat and dairy products. It it so much more worth living a minimalist life that the constant hustle for more dopamine! Thanks for your great content!
Wanhee, I would love it if you considered writing a book. I think it could potentially bring your message to the next level and bring a new layer of perceived legitimacy. I love all of your lessons and would find it very intuitive to have all of them in one place. Keep it up man, my life is forever changed after discovering your channel.
Maximalism facilitates and allows you to accomplish a lot more productive things than just working on how you look (which is unquestionably important, however there is a lot more to life than that; a productive life is usually quite complicated and demanding as well as requiring necessary tools)
As a 30 yo minimalist I confirm everything Wanhee says :) Don't try to get into minimalism at once, you might bounce back and start consuming again. Make smaller goals and execute them. For example: put the stuff you don't wear in a box and wait for 30 days. If you forgot about them, donate them, because you never needed them. Wardrobe: - I only buy basic t-shirts in black, navy, and gray once a year / two years, wear them daily, and use delicate washing in cold water to prevent decoloration. When they fade, I recycle them and buy a new set of shirts. - I have one pair of jeans, one pair of denim shorts, and wear them daily. Both items were tailored multiple times and my shorts were jeans before (upcycling). - I have 2 pairs of shoes: Nike Revolution for every day and Puma Palermo for going out and light outfits. Food: Eat the same stuff every day: protein puddings, eggs, bowls with chicken and rice... sometimes I do pancakes and burgers because I love them and I know that I've consumed fewer calories that I've burned. Workouts: I train 5 days a week, early in the morning, to get my blood flowing for the day, and close my rings as early as possible. The training split is simple: Chest / biceps, back / triceps, shoulders / legs, chest / biceps, and back / triceps. Huberman talked about training on an empty stomach to get more results and burn fat, that worked for me and now I'm used to that method, plus intermident fasting. Focus: I don't have social media (besides YT and Reddit) and don't waste my time scrolling and watching endless tik-tok. I read books, do online courses, getting ready for my master's in Data Science. Stay consistent, guys, and enjoy life :)
The thing you said about trying to 'milk life' is so true. I have so many people around me who feel bad when they have to stay in for the weekend and can't go to this or that party or drink 20 beers at the bar with people who mostly don't care about them and feel bad for the rest of the weekend. The FOMO is real, but what are you actually missing out on?
I've been developing my lifestyle to be more minimalist over the last years without even labeling it as that. Humans naturally gravitate towards minimalism.
It's easy, here's how I did it. A bowl of yogurt with oats, 3tsp of sugar & cinnamon every night until I got regular. Ofc, that goes with saying you HAVE to change your diet and lifestyle in general. Less alcohol, less cigarettes, less hot spice in the food, less desserts (sugar), less hard dry foods in general, less bananas. More salads, liquid meals and fruits. Coffee. I overdid a lot of harmful things years ago until I got hemorrhoid(s). The doctor prescribed me a medicine that made my heartbeat go crazy, so I had to figure things myself. Stopped overindulging in alcohol, stopped smoking, stopped the medicine, started a more balanced diet, started washing my 🍑 with COLD water after going #2. I take no medicine, my liver is thankful, my heart rate is fine, I'm regular and have no issues going #2 and I feel a lot better in general. Trust me, I know my 💩! 🤣 Try these out, see how it goes for you. 😉✌
Hahaha bro I workout 3 times a week too I only hit chest once though during that time, took a month and abit hiatus cuz I was behind on Afterpay payments hahaha…. But now I’m not so I can buy protein bars
I’m personally currently struggling with a eating disorder. I eat a ton one day like 3000+ calories and the I don’t eat for 2-3 days. Not sure how to fix this. I feel like i have a binge eating disorder. I would appreciate some advice to overcome this.
Most of the time eating disorders aren't the main problem but a symptom of something you struggle with like feeling you lack control or something. The best way to overcome things like that is therapy. I know it sounds scary but it will help you in the long run and help you become a more reflected, healthier and happier person. I hope you overcome it stay strong!
Add some pullups, squats and crunches in with the pushups, and eventually up the resistance with a weight vest. Other than that, that's plenty of exercise.
Im not what people consider a minimalist, nor do i see myself as one yet. However looking at the modern trend it seems as though it has gone the other derection. With videos or posts of peoples homes and stuff they bought. Then there is “essentialism vs minimalism” which are 2 halves of same coin, just humans like to label. This is just my ideas and take so far. Have a great day.
Minimalism can truly be a life changer. There’s less chaos in life , less distractions and a more humbling experience.

Right now I’m just going on hikes/runs & pushups every other day. Is that too little?
Add some pullups, squats and crunches in with the pushups, and eventually up the resistance with a weight vest. Other than that, that's plenty of exercise.

Minimalism is the only way to give you real happyness!!
It's just a small part of it, but it sure helps. And it doesn't even have to be extreme. It's just that mindset switch. 😉👍 I really love it.
