Susanne, when I play this jig, I count it Tah Ta Tee, Tah Ta Tee, instead of 123, 456. I find that this is the magic key to making this jig work. Moreover, I think that your playing is excellent and pure brilliant. Blessings of stars and stones William Taliesin St Clair
Hey, any chance you'll be doing more videos like this? The slower, up-close view has helped me a ton because I have a tough time getting the proper "sound" down just by sight reading. Working on the Connaughtman's Rambles next if you're up for requests. Also any tips on getting the right "Irish" rhythm down in the 6/8 time would be great! Anyways, great lesson!
I am, if someone should comment, aware, that Athenry is not a jig or reel...should have separated the former comment...lol...but I love playing the reels and jigs just to see the people enjoying themselves on the dance floor...pay me all the money you like but if the people are not dancing when they are supposed to be and I might as well give the money back..
Hey! Thank you very much for taking your time.. Question, from thesession.org, which of the 3 versions are you using as a guide? Cheers from Argentina!
