Samsung TV Won't Turn On- Simplest Trick to Fix

    I am doing this to our TV sets for many years. This problem occurs if the TV is not turned on for many weeks or even months. My understanding here is that the capacitor is discharging or change capacitance if not used due to a leaky capacitor. In order to fix this the service center change the whole board and will cost you a lot of money. Being a technician, my job is to trouble shoot and find ways to fix before calling a service center. This is effective to me and want to share to others too. This is the first time you will see this on TH-cam and if you are a Tech TH-camr and want to make your own video like this please give me a shout out. Thank you for watching and see you on my other videos.
    If your TV works after this trick but still won't turn on again after you turned it off, you may want to try this and this fixed my TV sets permanently • SAMSUNG TV WON’T TURN ...

    Did the damn thing..I was shocked..found this 70in on the side of the road going to the dump. It had been rained on and was soaking wet .let it dry out then only a red light came on ..no screen.. I swear to God I did this blower dryer trick and the first time it didn't work..I put a lil higher heat for an extra min or three or five and bam baby! Viola a new computer monitor for daddy..thanks bro..great trick..going to be looking for many more tvs on the side of the road..or go into the tv repair business

    Thank you!! I tried using the tips in other videos about this Samsung TV issue (unplugging from wall, removing batteries from remote and pressing power) with no luck. Thought for sure this tip was BS but gave it a shot - it worked! My particular LED model has four vents, two at the bottom and two at the top. It took me several tries to figure out which vent worked (top right for me) but my TV powered on. I appreciate you!

    I have a Samsung TV with the same problem. I have a 4 year degree in electrical engineering and I have to admit...using a hair dryer on capacitors makes absolutely no sense to me at all...but it did work...I was about to go shopping for a new TV and decided to give TH-cam one last try and came across this video...not sure how long it will work but...it definitely did work so I thank you 😊 🙏

    • @Mr.BenjAmazingBoracay
      @Mr.BenjAmazingBoracay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Woohh same course here, I am undergraduate in Electrical Engineering but graduated in BS Electronics Technology. This was not discused in school and nothing like this in books and internet but as a certified mobile phone technician, a hot air is a basic tool for reapair so during the 6 months of hotel closure in Boracay we have 24 tv sets dead like this. So while waiting for the order for replacement I tried this trick and worked to all 24 tv sets. I made this video and uploaded as “Unlisted” just to share to my co-technicians in the hotel but after 2 years another closure happened due to pandemic so we have more tv’s like this and most of the units I fixed like this didn’t turn on again so I reheated and worked again. That was the time I decided to share this to Public. But there are units which did not work using this so I made another video on how to fix permanently which you can see at the end screen of this video.

      @@Mr.BenjAmazingBoracay Quick follow up. While your trick definitely does work, it has only been a temporary fix in my case. Any time I turn my TV off for more than a couple hours, the original problem returns so while I'm grateful to have a temporary fix, I'm curious if there is a permanent fix. Do you think replacing the electrolytic capacitor on the power supply would be a permanent repair?

    • @Mr.BenjAmazingBoracay
      @Mr.BenjAmazingBoracay  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bruceneedleman1179 I have a follow up video for this if the problem still exist after this trick. You can see the video at the end screen of this video with almost same Title. I just resolder all the capacitors and it’s fixed permanently. I also tried replacing 5 capacitors 25v, 1000uf but it didn’t fix so I think some of the capacitors around could be freezing and was activated after resoldering and got back to normal. Or I was thinking of rusty flux which made a partial short circuit so I cleaned after resoldering.

      Just buy a T-con board. Gamma IC is flash IC which you need a to reprogram. If you know a shop who repair a tcon board just let them repair for you and pay. They will just replace the IC and reprogram

    Hi Mr Benj! We had been on a vacation for 3 weeks and now my Samsung TV doesn't turn on. Called the service guy and he is saying we need to replace the LED screen which is quite expensive. Should I heat the back of the TV or the switch where the TV is connected? Didn't quite get that part.Also, should the TV be connected while we use the dryer ???

      Update : I tried heating the power entry point in the TV which was at the back of the TV for 20 secs .Still didn't work ? Anything else I should try ? Can I heat it a little more .There is a sound that's coming when I turn on the tv and there is also a red light at the bottom

    • @Mr.BenjAmazingBoracay

      @@JuvelleMendesABC if there is a sound you can try a flashlight on the screen to see if there is picture. If there is picture your back light is not working that is why the service center offers you to replace the panel. If you confirmed that there is a picture after using a flashlight you need a shop that repairs not the samsung service center. They do not repair they just replace and charge you the whole thing

      Based on your statement, you’re tv might be turning on but no display. You can check by using a flashlight and see if there is image or video in the screen while it’s on. If you see image, your tv has no backlight. There are many things to consider if your tv has no backlight. It could be your backlight inverter is defective, or your backlight is defective or the mother board or the power board. With this trouble you need and expert to repair the your tv.
