So, I’ve taken some time to rethink my stance on "A magic Steeped in Poison" since I filmed this 😶 I think I rated it higher cos I read it after Heart of the sun warrior. One week and a little more thought later, it’s giving 3.5 ✨😂 Y’all have a good week, happy reading!
Lord Seventh is such a sad book because Jing Beiyuan and Zhou Zishu sacrificed so much(their morals) for Helian Yi to get the throne for him. And Helian Yi is not even happy with it because to be a ruler is to know solitude but he has no choice since he's the only decent candidate for the throne. It also make sense why JBY and ZZS need to leave HLY so the crimes they did before his reign will be buried. But at least Jing Beiyuan get his happy ending he deserve in this book and Zhou Zishu in Faraway Wanderers.
It really is such a sad book. The translator of the translation I read had a very short note at the end of the novel that just really stayed with me because it sums up the story so well. "Lord Seventh is, overall, a rather melancholic work. Suicidally valorous people, missed opportunities, wasted time and effort, obsession, mistakes that can't be fixed, cruel deaths in the name of the greater good.... if it weren't for the main couple, there would be little true happiness in the story" Stories like this are always so interesting to read, if anything, to see the choices the author makes with the characterization.
I would love to see journaling videos! I saw some glimpses of your journals on insta and would love to see your process and where you get your supplies. I am trying to get into journaling my anime/manga/danmei journey, but I’m not the most creative 😅 and have found it difficult lol.
Hi! Thanks for letting me know you'll be interested in seeing journaling videos ❤I plan to slowly incorporate them. I'll mention that I get a lot of inspiration from Pinterest and journal-focused channels here on TH-cam. It can be confusing and overwhelming but I think it's best to start simple and slowly build up through experimenting.
Savior's book cafe was one of my fave cozy manga reads I've had (first place now goes to Princess Jellyfish), but I also wish there was slightly less of the savior stuff. I just kept going "can we go back to the bookshop/cafe now?" LOL Great video! I hope you have a lovely week!
I need to read Princess Jellyfish! I watched the anime a long time ago but never read the manga. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who wanted more of the bookshop/cafe in Savior's book cafe. It felt like the title and first volume attracted a very specific audience only to take away what appealed to that audience in other volumes haha. I hope you've been doing well, have a lovely week as well 🥰
I don't usually comment but I just discovered you bc I wanted to see your thoughts on A Magic Steeped in Poison but I didn't expect to see danmei!! I'm not too deep in booktok/booktube and I haven't see anyone talk about danmei yet! I didn't read Lord Seventh but if you want danmei recs and really want to see some crazy political intrigue with like 100 characters, you should read A Ballad of Sword and Wine if you have not yet! First volume just came out but it is truly the best political danmei out there! Incredibly fleshed out plot (can be very confusing at first) with AMAZING characters! There's a lot of characters for sure but it's 10000% worth the read
Hiiii! Thanks for commenting and the recommendation! What are the chances? I'm reading the first volume of Qiang Jin Jiu right now and loving it, I usually put reading updates in my description but now realize a lot of people will likely miss that. I totally get what you mean with A Magic Steeped in Poison, the plot is very simple. I just started posting more danmei content this year, but I hope you enjoy what you find 😊
