So long as you clean up after yourself, we'll have no problems.
This is another one of those movies they did where it isn't AWFUL. Warner is superb as always, and the plot can be defended as pretty good! Just, you know, the basic hangups of a low budget film.
I remember being maybe a teenager or pre teen and watching delta knights on sci fi and thinking this would be a great mst3k. I saw it a little bit later. I'm now here drinking and smoking because I have off tomorrow and I'm trying to relive my youth for a night.
Depending on how accurately you were able to "relive your youth" I hope you felt ok the next morning!
I watch MST3K to relieve my youth too, but also I really get into the old flop movies, looking at the sets, the script the artists.
References to Hayley Mills and Agnes Moorhead made me wonder if the writer is older than me!
45:40 The Saint Sebastian reference was a good one.
Per Wikipedia, in 2017 "Warner expressed enjoyment at being in the movie after his amusement at it being featured on MST2K.". Pretty cool, huh?
True story: I was in Ohio....Rock and hall of fame...was discussing a random band with some people and when it came time to go I just randomly said Loner Crows "To have said goodbye to things" as a joke. And discovered a few MSTies in the group of folks. This was long after SciFi cancelled. So we spend another hour discussing our favorite episodes.
That's cool!
We are a passionate group. To this day, whenever my dad and I make sandwiches, we use "mayonnAISE!" 🤣
I'm two thirds through this and I just realized what was bothering me about this movie: this movie is almost exactly the same as the Dungeons & Dragons movie! Same plot, same things happen in exactly the same places almost. Switch that elven village in D&D for the "forest people" in this for instance
And the upbeat portion of the soundtrack is a rip-off of Empire of the Sun.
also both are terrible.
"Oh go paint an enigmatic woman." LOL
43:09 BRILLIANT Sledgehammer reference. Love hearing that ubiquitous Emulator II flute sound.
I remember groaning as a kid whenever a guest appeared in Joel or Mike's place, but honestly, Pearl's actually really funny.
"Let me try... get bent! Oh, I guess I can't."
8:41 I can't believe they just straight-up used a completely unaltered animal control stick for the slave auction scene. It's still got the foam handle and everything!
I wish I had a chorus of Tom Servos...
It was my pleasure to agree with you though 7 years late. I hope you are well fellow admirer of MST3K
it's kind of a pity we didn't get more Pearl riffs.
I’m with you Drew, definitely under-used.
Good thing there’s RiffTrax!
*♫* _It's time for RiffTrax_ *♫*
Thanks to this, I want my final spoken word to be….
PACKERS!!!
Richard Kind has had a weird career. From this, to voicing Tom in the Tom and Jerry movie, to Bing Bong...so weird.
Also, that wizard wizz scene...WOW.
Now, no fucker remembers him
"You are . . . full of crap beyond your years kid."
"Aren't you me in another role?"
Raoul Duke always cracks me up
"David Warner, you are under arrest by order of David Warner"
I love the random commercial interlude - it makes me feel like I'm right there with you, watching in your living room back in 1995, yet still safe in front of my computer in 2013.
RIP Baydool
This is one of my all time favorite episodes ❤️
So the order is a movement based on the enlightenment, but they base their activity off of an ancient prophecy?
The random commercial both scared the shit out of, and nostalgia bombed me simultaneously lol.
So I guess rather than getting one David Warner for the whole movie they got two David Warners for half the movie.
Like the idea of the Delta Knights turning into one of those organizations you would care less about unless they hold one of these charitable functions.
Rip David Warner !
Is Travis the same actor that played the "screaming white kid" in Robin Hood Men in Tights?
This is what I love about the nature of this series. I've watched various eps of this show in reruns, I never saw Pearl in the theatre before! Just cool stuff!
Did you see Frank and Dr. F in the theater in episode 611?
@@analogkid01 wow thanks! Looks like I have another MST in queue!
@@ElKabongg42 Oh and Gypsy sits in the theater for a few minutes at the beginning of episode 412.
