There was a FAQ in a Facebook groups where I posted this video regarding cross stick with this trigger: YES you can get cross stick with modules that have X-stick detection native such as the modern Roland sets, eDrumIn, Gewa, etc. But not my Efnote or 2box - thus the need for the Bt1. This Diamond Drums EasyFit is a 3 zone trigger, so as long as your module has the sample and the algorithm to detect it, cross-stick will work. However, like with all triggers where the piezos are mounted around the outside, you will not be able to get positional sensing to work on Roland TD27/50x/V71 modules, but on the flip side, you will minimise the hotspotting caused by centre-mounted piezos.
Had to reduce gain a little on td17 Otherwise im really digging it....going to get 10,12 and 2 13s to round out the rest of my A2E as im running all single cone piezos Glad to have stumbled upon these after seeing your jobeky video Cheers!!
@@stephenchesterjr1364 Glad you stumbled across this video! Feel free to subscribe if you want more of this kind of content. Got more Jobeky and Diamond products coming up soon.
An excellent question. They are both stellar premium triggers, and they are similar in some ways and very different in others. Here's a little pro/con list if that's useful. JOBEKY: Pro - marginally cheaper than the Diamond and arrived a bit faster thank Diamond, made from metal so will outlast the heat death of the universe, head triggers accurately without having to mess with settings much. Con: doesn't come with mini jack to 1/4" cable (sold separately), have to crank up rim trigger gain a lot to get it to work well. Shipping was quite expensive but this might be due to weight of metal? DIAMOND: Pro - comes with cable, some of the very best triggering I've ever come across, inexpensive shipping (maybe cos it weighs less?), Dave is such a lovely chap to deal with - great communication, customisation options, etc. Con: a bit more expensive than the Jobeky, made from 3d printed plastic (although appears durable), out of the box is a very 'hot' trigger so needed dialling in but his is mostly a pro due to its sensitivity. TLDR; on balance I think I like the Diamond better, but honestly they are both really good triggers.
Good question. Alas I don't have a eDrumIn at present on my test bench. I'll check with Dave from Diamond Drums to see if he has any advice. I imagine that they would work well and easily with the eDrumin.
@Acoustic2Electronic that be great 👍 I'm debating on buying the efnote 7x pro or doing an A2E , not fully decided yet and be Interested to see inside the efnote.
I'm also trying to figure out if it would be worth to spend money for the efnote pads when I already have a really good quality acoustic kit and I could just buy a good triggering system and mesh heads. Any suggestions? Anyway really good channel
@@LukeH-m3z Thanks for the feedback man - cheers. Look, the Efnote stuff just works and triggers brilliantly. But if you're up for some trial and error and a bit of a project A2E is super fun and you get to save some money for sure. My advice is use all Diamond Drums triggers tbh - Dave's gear is probably the best A2E stuff out there atm.
You are correct that the system is quite 'hot'. I have since turned down the head gain and adjusted the threshold on both of my modules. Now it triggers the softer layers in the round-robin better. It's just a matter of playing around with the settings. :)
Lower dynamics do play. Plug and play on Roland. Hotter on efnote and mimic but I'm finding guys like a hot pad and dial it back a little. I'm currently building a version with a 5mm top hat on the foam to take a bit of hotness off if you don't want to dial it back on those modules but of course you can't cater for every module as plug and play. 😊
I am also super keen to get a EF-NOTE version as a snare drum please. Very excited to see that possibility!
seconded! How do we buy one for Efnote 5 module please?
This is excellent. Thanks for this video!
Thanks Kevin - appreciate the feedback. I'll be releasing another video similar to this next week :)
Woah incredible job mate
Cheers Josh! Going to be doing quite a few A2E conversions with your shells and hardware in the near future so hope you'll follow along :)

I realise that I said 14" snare drum early in this video. I meant to say 13" - apologies for the confusion!
That Jazz First Note reminds me of Max Roach and Elvin Jones! Nice drop in system, couldn't be easier, going to have to look into them.
Yeah they are excellent! Yes very Elvin Jones! That kit comes standard with most of the Efnote modules.
Which trigger system did you prefer out of Jobeky & Diamond?

Did you have to do much adjustment with the EDRUMin module other than “learn”?

To me it sounds like this trigger system is quite hot.
You can’t have the lower dynamic playing.
It’s just medium and above.
Seems precise, though.
