My father was also a logger. Normally, I also get worked up about tag ends, but this was more of a rough type of experiment and I know those fish don't care like steelhead do, so I just tied them up as fast as I could. Thanks for commenting. Let me know if you have any extra lug nuts laying around lol
I'm surprised it was, because it was the first random spot I chose. Bait fishing is easy and you can normally find them just by having good scented bait and by waiting.
@@righteousriverfishinginoregon7 pretty much what he said, there's so much sand and the deep spots are along the inner sides of the jetties starting about halfway out. And they suck to walk on cause of the little boulders it's made of.
I'm in Roseburg, and the quickest route to the coast always puts me out between Bandon and Redsport. Where should I go Rock fishing and where should I go surf perch fishing, on this stretch of coast line.
Good questions, but I don't fish that far south. The farthest south I fish is Winchester Bay, which has great jetty fishing. I also don't often recommend fishing spots. But, the techniques I show you in my videos will work on any jetty. Both bait fishing and jig fishing are effective. For perch, you can catch them on any beach, but you still need to learn how to read the water to find them in abundance. I don't have a perch video yet, but eventually I'll make a video and share my techniques and methods. Good luck.
It is different for bait fishing and jig fishing. When I'm bait fishing I cast it out a medium distance, let it fall and wait. When I fish with jigs I cast as far as I can. Schools of bass could be anywhere out there. if you find bass keep casting at them and catch as many as you can. When bait fishing cast in all different spots, fanning your casts in all directions. There are always rock fish in the rocks and you may just need find them by casting around.
You can pump shrimp at the Hatfield Marine Science Center. They have a public parking lot just outside the big roundabout by the boat launch area. I rarely bait fish from the jetty, but when I do i like to pump shrimp. I don't have any other social media for my channel. Thanks for watching and asking questions. Fish on!
A good reason to change your spark plugs . Rock on !
Ha! Good point. Definitely!
I'm gonna have to get me a bottle of that attractant, seems like it really helps in saltwater!
It's new for me, but I really think it's a good idea. I'm going to keep using it.
Am I the only one bothered by the tag end left on the weight loop? Great idea. I used to use log truck lug nuts when I was a kid. My dad was a logger.

Have any questions about catching fish on the PNW jetty's? Just ask me. What's best, bait or jigs? Just ask me in this chat.
Looks like a sweet spot!

Thats a sweet bottomfish rig. Sandshrimp make it even better, i wish more fish would bite in the Siuslaw
Yeah, I've never fished the florence jetty but the guy the taught me how to jetty fish said florence sucks because there is so much sand.

do you find it to be more productive casting out from the rocks rather than casting close by?
