You could also do a lace-up back instead of zipper and then you can adjust the tightness by how tight you lace it. Just need grommets & a long shoelace
lestrange I did think possibly if you got ever so slightly sweaty that is going to hurt being on your side, your arm would brush the top of the zip , just a thought to consider . Great little number though I must say
I agree the zipper would be better in the back or you could do hook and eyes under the front placket if you didn't want a zipper. Really cute and you rock that.
This is awesome, you are so great with your diy's'. What would you suggest I do to change up a white jeans to make it original and fresh, I wore it once to a casual white party but as a plus size woman white pants are not my comfort zone, wanted to reinvent them to wear it in a different way. Can you do such a diy project please.
I think a zipper in the back was actually the way to go. This way you could adjust as much as needed without going lopsided. If you have the ability to re-inforce the denim, you could also put in some grommets and lace it up like a true corset.
I would try a pair of button fly men's or young men's jeans (I think it's the Levi 501's that are button fly. Button fly jeans also gets rid of the gaping problem that you had with the jacket) turn them upside down, belt loops would still be on the waist. Then at the top, instead of straight, you might want to consider, since you have all that length from the legs, sort of a halter or caged back, since you can use that excess for straps/ties. Depending on the woman's waist size, narrow fold a red bandana and run thru the belt loops when done, would be really cute!
I would get grommets and do either both sides as laced up or the back or front as laced up and even get some zip ties, make some boning casings to make the bodice shape a lot more form fitting.
You can buy eyelet tab tape at the notions store (Joannes Fabric) and use leather boot lacing. If you just add the eyelet tape to the back, right on top when you lace it up like a real corset the fabric underneath the lacing kind of folds and gathers and is very forgiving.I would still do the zipper on the side ...the lacing ensures a perfect fit and looks cute ...I recommend black with brass eyelets you can make matching denim eyelet tabs just fray the edge s on 1 inch by 10 inch strips (depending on size for you it would be 7 inch strips the punch holes and add eyelets ...this detail is well worth the extra hour of work as it is classic and fits perfectly.
Phenomenal channel with great content and production value !!!Love love love your channel! You have impeccable taste and style as well as a charismatic personality!
Hi Orly....girl I love watching your DIY’s and really appreciate your especially doing lots of denim. This corset I do agree the zipper should go in the back. One thing I really would like to see is a denim shoe hack. I often try to search for a denim shoe that I really love, but 😏 never find anything I really love. Thanks A tru denim lover🥰
I have been wanting to make some denim shoes and I have been planning what to do. I see this comment is from 2 years ago, have you ever found anything, like DIY tutorial-wise, that you liked? Because i will probably try to make every type of shoe that I can (starting with thigh high denim boots bc they are 😍).
I am newer to your channel so I am late weighing in. I love this DIY. I did it with an embroidered heart jacket and it turned out great! Thank you Orly.
I'm in total agreement with you about the minor puckers in it. The back zipper would be best but a very great idea. I may put a strap that's removable too. Just my take on it.
The screaming cat face just made me subscribe to your friggin channel along with me binge watching so many of your helpful vids🤣😂🤣😂❤❤❤😘😘😘 You are so DOPE!
I adore you ! This turned out well, but the wisdom of placing zipper in the back is now apparent ... BUT ... It did turn out friggin awesome !!! You R the cutest !!! Love what you do .. U are a great instructor and do not blah, blah blah to frustration ... N this is my last compliment for you today ... You personality & sense of humor is just so FUN !!! U R the BEST !!
I am not in any way shape or form a dressmaker, the same problem you recognize about putting the zipper in the back was the same thing that jumps out at me overall not bad. Make sure to post the redo if you do decide to do it again.
Just came across your channel & love your content. Love this Tutorial. Agree with zip on the back or lace up. But since you’d like it slightly tighter, to even it out, I’d add a matching zipper on the opposite side seam.
Kianna Sade yes but it’s kind of a shame to do so because it has the original seam from the jacket which is hard to recreate. The best thing would’ve just been a zipper in the back. Lace up would work too but you’d have to re-inforce the denim so the grommets don’t just shread it.
I bet you could do several videos on hack your scraps using buttons, bows, collars, zippers ets from your prior DIY videos. Mend, update, add applicates, soft jewelry and so much more.
I really like this diy! You did as you usually do, well. You did the grommet strips on a tee once, what about adding something like that to the back? I think it would be super cute! I wrote on your diy fringe jacket video about an off the shoulder jean jacket...hope you can give some insight to that creation.
I was thinking that to do your DIYs maybe clothes from thrift store that can save some money I love your DIYs so unique and different just saw your Channel new subscriber
Hello..It Came out Great..yes I Would of put the zipper on the back..but put a small hem on the back Top, so if you wash it it won't frill.. being that it's Jean material!! But looks Good!! Better then $400. LoL
I Think it's cute, but it has nothing To do with the original one. I also consider that it works for you because of your body type and your skirt. I can't picture it in a different combination.
Oh, I can...I can see it being pared with many different skirts & pants...some dressy n flowy to make stark contrasts of fabric/texture & style that just friggin POP & look spectacular !!!! That is what I see in my head ... Haha ... Your imagination is the only limit !!!
Great job, I would however suggest adding 2 princess darts in the back and even in the front. The darts could be made to resemble the boning all corsets have and will even give the garment a much needed structured yet feminine shape hugging all your curves. With very little effort, the collar and sleeves of the jacket that you cut off, could make a smocking hot bolero. Some leftover embellishments or embroideries or replacing the standard metal closures with some blinging could take it a notch up. Paired with a simple black strapless dress and your glittered rainbow heels would make a damn sexy date night outfit!
You could also do a lace-up back instead of zipper and then you can adjust the tightness by how tight you lace it. Just need grommets & a long shoelace
Yea for sure. As long as you can set those grommets in really well or even use grommet tape instead, that would be great!
lestrange I did think possibly if you got ever so slightly sweaty that is going to hurt being on your side, your arm would brush the top of the zip , just a thought to consider . Great little number though I must say
I would also get zip ties, use excess fabric to make boning casings and bone the bodice to make it more corset like and improve the shape.
@@OrlysChannel When I read this comment Grommet tape with a pretty drapery rope came to mind.
@@crazyaussiepagan6220 spiral steel boning should work here since the body needs to bend.
You are officially my favorite DIYer on this app. So simple and adorable.
Great design. There is literally no end to what we can do with Denim. Thanks for sharing!
Newbie!
I think I overdosed on your videos!
Love you!❤❤❤
You make so much sense! ❤❤
haha NEVERRRR ;)
A great beginning for a jumper or pair of bibs.
The one which your are wearing in this video is really awesome.. could you please share DIY of the same .
I agree the zipper would be better in the back or you could do hook and eyes under the front placket if you didn't want a zipper. Really cute and you rock that.

Kelly Donahue best compliment ever!! Thanks for watching mama 😊
Me too!! I've been trying to get back to work for the last 30 minutes! LOL
I think you did a great job.
What about one side zipper? I have to try this!
I think a zipper in the back was actually the way to go. This way you could adjust as much as needed without going lopsided. If you have the ability to re-inforce the denim, you could also put in some grommets and lace it up like a true corset.
You are a hoot!! You are hilarious, cuz you say stuff out loud, that I'm thinking!! Thanks for making it all so fun!!! Love you lots!!
I absolutely love it. So many different ways to go and I am glad you showed us the basics.

Thrifting is my go to for restyles.
Zipper in back......
🌹
Omg! And you are adorable 🥰 it looks so good. I wish I was younger. I love watching you create !
I would get grommets and do either both sides as laced up or the back or front as laced up and even get some zip ties, make some boning casings to make the bodice shape a lot more form fitting.
omg that would be amazing. I'd have to learn how to put in boning, I've never done that. But damn, that would be perfect.
I'm totally trying this for myself & my daughter! Nice DIY!
You have such a charisma, and I simply couldn’t resist subscribing. You’re amazing!!!!
Thank you for that!!
I’m not a DIY person ... but have gotten into watching the videos and love them ... this corset is so cute .... love it
I love this and how you put the sweater underneath. Very cute.
I love that I actually was searching for something to do with some old jeans and your idea was fabulous for the previous outfit I did thanks
This is lovely ! I would have put a little inside button at the top get in and out in of the trough the front
Yes love it. Glad you said Zipper in the back.. Nuff love MisT aka the Rollin Raver xxxx
Love it! When you do another please show us the tweaks you will make to the second one please!

Add some steel boning for support
If you make a second DIY corset i suggest adding grommets and laces in the back with a modesty panel

Such a brilliant idea. Now im gonna keep my old stuff for future diy fashion designs..😍😍😍😘
I'm already borrowing 😂 1 of my little sister's jackets to do this, totally loved the result 👏👏😍

sarah deason oh my gosh you’re the best! Thank you so much! And yes... why didn’t i put the damn zipper in the back!!? 🤦🏻♀️
@@OrlysChannel could you put zippers where the princess seams go? Then if they are unzipped the piece can be put on over head.
Everything you do is perfect
Nice job looks great on you!
sew thick part of what you cut off the back to the top cut line so it won't stretch out? Put zipper under buttons on front?
Великолепно! Творческий подход, обязательно попробую! Sumptuously! Creative approach, I will definitely try!

Love the tutorial. The belt is OMG fabulous!!!! Where did you find it?
thrifted!
I hv a black jean jacket that my bf dried by accident fits except the arms are too tight. Going to try
I bet you could do several videos on hack your scraps using buttons, bows, collars, zippers ets from your prior DIY videos. Mend, update, add applicates, soft jewelry and so much more.
seriously! haha
So now I'm convinced I should make one. I tried not to because of KK in the thumbnail but since it's so easy to make, how can I refuse? Thank you. 🙂
First video I see from you and omg you are hilarious 😆
hahah thanks for watching!
So cool! I want to try!!
U nail it for your first time.
She is a genius/smart cookie 🌷
It looks very cute! 💖
Thank you! I think I'm going to tweak it a bit but I do like it!!
Love the idea but I think you need the princess seams to give it a true corset effect! Very cool on you nonetheless
I really like this diy! You did as you usually do, well. You did the grommet strips on a tee once, what about adding something like that to the back? I think it would be super cute!
I wrote on your diy fringe jacket video about an off the shoulder jean jacket...hope you can give some insight to that creation.
Yea the grommet tape would've been really smart!
Please do a tutorial for the skirt you are wearing. I have 3/4 denim shorts my boyfriend gave me that would work like magic
I have on on the channel! Its no sew but could easily be sewn too
Really cute and if you do make more you can embellish them so many ways xx
Yea that's so true!!

Love your ideas! 😍😍😍😍
Can you do a Vivienne Westwood knockoff?
Could you cinch it up on the sides instead of using a zipper? There are so many possibilities with it.
Omg A Gucci Marmont Belt Or A Hermès Belt Would Look So Great On This Outfit.😍
I haven’t even finished watching the whole video but I’m off to get a cheap Jean jacket rn!!!!
Which brand of sewing machine is this.
I Think it's cute, but it has nothing To do with the original one. I also consider that it works for you because of your body type and your skirt. I can't picture it in a different combination.

Dear summer 2019 am ready are you ??? 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Love it👍🏼👍🏼
I loved it!
Nicely done. I would add time hook and eyes to the gaposis portion.... that only occurs to be becuz I'm busty and modesty dictates my motives.
Is there anyway to put a corset pattern on top of the jean material..... that way insuring the top size will fit.
