    one suggestion/hint ::: if you trace the "good" T-shirt on a big paper you can use that paper pattern over an over again. Much faster to repeat on to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th t-shirt. And you can save this pattern for later use.

      I'm wearing a skirt for the first time ever since I bought it ~3 years ago, because even though I was overweight then, I knew someday I would be this small to medium size again!

    Love this! I have been loving using my favorite clothes as patterns for new copies. I'm sure you're doing this, but it might be important to mention that you always want to back stitch whenever you are starting or ending a seam. That ensures that the seam doesn't open up.

    Really hard to see what your doing with the sleeve at 3:50 in video. Everything is black and I wish you could have taken just 10 seconds to clearly show what part of the sleeve you are cutting. Otherwise very cute video and very inspiring!

    The way you see the sleeve onto the shirt first before doing the side seem is a different way of doing it but it probably works really well and takes out the sewing in a circle part out . Love it and totally doing it

    Great video. I like how you went slowly & explained the sleeves, making sure you rounded the shirt under the arm, & we were able to watch it, instead of just explaining it. My suggestion would be to get a heavy paper bag such as the ones you get at a boutique. & tracing the good shirt onto the paper. Get a large gallon zipper bag & label it with which good shirt you used, along with the size in case you’ve gained weight. In that case you need to find another “good shirt” in a larger size 😊

    My technique is similar but I turn them both inside out. Put the flatted fitted on over the flatted new one, then draw the outline. The main difference I do is sew up the sides, including under the arms. Sure the shoulder seam ends up too low ‘cause it was not redone, but it saves so much time and I get nearly the same result. Just my thoughts.

    • @AllThePeppermint
      @AllThePeppermint 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lesley Dehaan, some shirt have that look on purpose, and I tend to prefer the shoulder seams being further down the arm. :)

    Orly, Orly, Orly, I found your video just in time. I have an idea for a tee shirt design so, I thought I would pull out my bag of new white tee shirts. My idea is to tie dye and embellish them. Well to my surprise the tee shirts are XXXXXL. I did buy them knowing the size but, I forgot and I have changed my idea for them. These shirts are 50" wide from sleeve end to sleeve end and 36" long from neck back to hem, that's a lot of fabric. I need my shirts to be large and x large finished sizes. When I found this video and watched it I did my happy dance, then when I realized it was you I did an extra turn. I knew I was in good hands. TFS. I watched you on Home And Family, loved your DIY projects. You saved the day for me.

    Great tutorial! I cut up all my band tees and sew them into something new (and I do tutorials on it). This video was really well shot and you clearly showed and explained all the steps!
