Ah! But the REAL Winnie the Pooh would never have had a cookie jar, that wouldn’t have been realistic. (too Disney). He’d have had a biscuit barrel xx 🙂
Yes, books are becoming quite different now, more Hollywood movie-ish and blurred lines between generational differences showing through eg Gen X vs Millenial differences in not only settings but in the character’s personalities and attributes. I struggle with the woman being presented with almost all masculine attributes and confess to wondering is a man who identifies as a woman ;).
It sounds like the narrator's pacing might be a bit too fast for your liking. Some audiobooks offer options to adjust the speed, so if you can, you might try slowing it down a bit to see if that helps. If not, there are plenty of other narrators with different styles you might enjoy!
Just discovered this author. Really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the rest. I thought the narrator was very good. Thanks for posting.

👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻What's with all the names??
Don't get it either. See it quite a lot. Wonder what the point is.
The woman goes one-on-one with a hardened thug and in a flash, he's pinned and terrified of her. Not credible. Not believable.
Then you should meet my x wife she trains special forces .
@@Star_Gazing_Coffee_Lover you've given more background in your comment than they gave in the story.
@@TreeLuvBurdpu i like Joy Ellis but didn't care for this series.

It’s CRIME FICTION - it wouldn’t be much entertainment if she was only filling in crime reports.
The narrator is like a speed reader
