- 🌸 Planting lily bulbs is an easy spring gardening project for beginner gardeners and flower lovers alike! Here’s how I plant lily bulbs in the flower garden in early spring 🌸
🌷 Popular cultivars: 🌷
Stargazer
Elodie
Josephine
Levi
Casa Blanca
Tabledance
Sorbonne
Mona Lisa
Forever Susan
Hybrid lilies are easy to grow and bloom freely with glamorous flowers. There are lots of different colors and varieties available in lily bulbs, from soft pink blooms to snowy white, bright yellows to cheery oranges and rich burgundy hues. Choose your favorites for spring or fall planting!
Hybrid ornamental lily plants like Asiatic lily cultivars and Oriental lily varieties are typically low-maintenance and naturally disease-resistant in the flower garden. Most are perennial (meaning they return from their roots each spring) in cooler zones 3/4 up to warmer zones 8/9, making them popular across many climates!
Thanks for the wonderful Lilie bulb planting tips , especially with hydrating the bulbs some before planting them.
Glad I watched this before planting.excellent detailed content thanks🤙🏻
I just got my pack first time ever planting just followed hope to see more ❤

Great job ❤❤❤❤
Very helpful!
YOU'RE SPIRIT CHOSE MY PATH!!! Much Love from the Orionic Bull DRUID STARGAZER!!!! Love You GAL!!!
I bought lily at Walmart. Baulbs were in green plastic bag;so, I could not see them. Came home, opened bag and could not even determine where is top and where is bottom. Baulb itself dry and looks like rotten garlic. Clearance for $2. "You got what you paid for" ❤. Then finally I saw real ones, live plants in Home Depot in August. Of course I grabbed them, too. This time 5 for $25, but have immediate result in my garden. I thought they bloom in May -June. Was surprised to see them in August. What time of summer do your lilies bloom?
Thank you! So helpful!
Excellent info! Thanks
You are incredible! So newcomer friendly & everything I needed to know!
Can you help me with replanting in zone 6B or how to overwinter these at home, if they were previously planted & have dried stem atop?
The best place for them to be in the winter is in the ground in a garden bed. The stems usually dry in the winter and kind of crack off if you don't trim them off with pruners. And that's all good. You can dig the bulbs up and re-plant them in different spots as soon as the ground thaws (perhaps March?). Get your new planting holes started before you start digging up the bulbs so that you can just get the bulbs right back into the soil. The bulbs won't be thrilled if you leave them on the open ground overnight and they get hit with very cold weather. They're surprisingly resilient but do best with at least a few inches of soil insulating them.
FYI... lily bulbs will move themselves to the optimal spot in the soil
Must helpful video if ever seen !
LOVE ❤️ THIS
Watched this after planting my bulbs realizing I did literally everything wrong.
Fantastic... Thank you... Stay safe
The assorted pack. Please tell me where can we buy them from. And are the lilies fragrant. I’m more interested in the Stargazer. Thanks for a great video!
Do your oriental lilies typically bloom for you the first year? I just planted some Casablanca bulbs two weeks ago and wasn’t sure if I’ll see flowers this late summer or not. Also when do you typically start to see growth popping up? I haven’t seen anything yet but was hoping in another 2 weeks I may start to see them coming up?
About 4-5 weeks after planting you should see some growth, maybe some bloom at the 90 day mark
@@twonut23 thank you!! Fingers crossed mine pop up haha!
Give them a fukin chance!!!!! 🌼 🌸 🌻 🌹

WOW 😍😍😍🌸
Thanks! I just got some Lillie’s and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t gonna mess this up. Your video was super helpful, I’m gonna go give my bulbs a bath now before they go in the ground.
Question, does this apply to all types of Lillie’s? I just got some Odessa, crystal clear, and twilight types. The bulbs look nothing like what you showed me. I just want to make sure I’m planting them right.
I Like Love Lily flower Like Michael
Thank you
Thanks you for your video!❤❤ May I ask the distance between each bulb? How many inches should I keep in width? In this fall, it will be my first time to plant several lily bulbs in my garden. Thanks u again! 🎉🎉
One lily will have at least 2 "babies" out of same baulb. Just give some space considering this factor. They look good when they somewhat close to each other as a groop
do they survive winter season in the ground?
Mine do! I'm in Zone 5 where it gets well below freezing in the winter. I think many lilies like this are hardy down to Zone 3
@@HomefortheHarvest thank you so much your video is very helpful 😊
Im in zone 4 upper midwest. Yes, mine do. And they multiply. I pot them in a damp potting mix in my shop, water them and leave them under lights or in a sunny window about a month before last frost. I put a little bone meal and blood meal in the potting mix. I reuse my 6” pots for jobs like this. My instructions say 3 per square foot for planting. After about a month the plants will have grown a fair bit and then then I take them out of the pots and plant them in the garden on full sun. I save my plastic pots, wash them and use them year after year. They look much better en masse and they smell very nice. Too!!!! I have sandy soil and I’ll put my home made compost around them after planting. So easy to grow.

As far as I know bulbs can survive freezing temps all winter so long as they have rooted in, if you plant the bulbs right before winter they may not last
You said you’re planting in the spring? I’m in zone 9b and planned to plant in early November! Is that correct?
The bulbs in the bag Bulbs Are Easy, where did you get those?
How many weeks for them to sprout?
How often should i water them after the initial planting ?
Where did you buy the lily bulbs in your video
I’m in zone 4. Can I plant lily bulbs now or is it considered to be too late? Soil temp is about 60.
Love how well explained this video is! Can I ask, where did you buy your bulbs?
They sell them at home Depot if you can still find some
@@Minding1111 thanks so much! I found them at Brecks.com too couple weeks ago which had a huge sale for 3 Casablanca lily bulbs for $4.99
Hey, isn't that one lily really a daylily? It's at the beginning just 11 seconds in.
I planted mine in a pot can I transfer them to the grown
Do they get smaller over the years? Mine are a few years old, and the last two years they’ve seemed to get progressively smaller.
Every 2 years you need to divide them. Pull out one plant in fall to see - how many "babies" around mother plant. Flowers get smaller if the baulbs too crowded under ground
In Which month should I plant it
I am in north Africa
The 1 buls is 4.5$ and the 16 buls how much does it cost you?
it didnt look like you pushed out air pockets
Why is it taking years for yours to grow?
Hello, thank you for a great video. I have a question - my mother in law brought me an Amazon lilly, it's one bulb with a leaf, but leaf got kinda broken during transport. Should I cut it down to the bulb or no? Thanks.
