    7:00 This is just a very wholesome moment. Two lion friends show their affection by rubbing their manes together, after one of them was faced by a pack of 20 hyenas calling and laughing like human savages. Nature is wild and beautiful. Imagine how many times something like this has happened since the evolution of lions and hyenas.

    • @andyl8055
      @andyl8055 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Although it sounds like laughing, it isn’t. Hyenas are communicating with each other when they do it.
      Another example of a sound that is like laughing is from the kookaburra. It’s actually a territorial cry (similar to a lion’s roar in function). It’s a declaration of dominion.

      It can. But in a 1 on 1 fight against the Tiger and Lion, the Hyena loses each fight. By a lot. I would also bet on a Jaguar to win a 1 on 1 if they had came to meet, as there are instances of a hyena losing to a Leopard.

      Reuben Caldwell
      Usually. But doesn’t mean always. Male Leopards are still very capable, there’s a video where a Leopard actually dragged a Hyena up a tree alive, hence why in a 1 on 1, I don’t think Hyenas would have a chance against a Jaguar. It’s bigger than a leopard, more powerful, much stronger and a much more powerful bite force, even exceeding Hyenas.
      That being said, bite force may not mean much in a fight. It’s rare that an animal will get the grip needed to apply its maximum force.
