You can catch plenty of Zander during the day, i tend to re cast every 10-15 mins, and i have lost count the amount of times i have had a run straight after a recast, and leap frogging down the canal is a good idea, as you can often pick up a bite from the 1st cast in a new swim
That’s good to know! I’ve not fished the canal, but would normally leap frog along the river for pike so should have down the same really. Appreciate the advice 👍
I got some sand pits over here in the netherlands .. in the summer the zander are standing on half water then u can just cast to them with livescope.. best way to catch them, esp big ones.
Never fished for zander but after watching this it’s gave me a nudge to want to try😂great video good effort as they say you can’t catch them all, can’t wait for Tuesdays vid 👌🏻👌🏻
A fish I’ve never caught!! Or fished for to be honest but that’s gonna change this year! Great video as always mate oh what’s that kettle too? Handle for short sessions
Before I started fishing a couple of older lads used to take me near P'boro, fishing the drains for Zander, Pike & Eels..They used to have some decent Zander double figures.
Awsome video Shaun. As you said zander feed into dark. Never caught one myself either its on my list an a double barbel but im WestMidlands based not sure what River to try near me for them.🎣
Where were the ZAnder introduced from? I remember yer dad complaining of their predatory nature years ago, like an aquatic grey squirrel they take over.. anyways , all these 57 varieties.. xlnt infotainment.. u carry on n b lucky... unca s
Quality watch as always onto the next adventure tightlines see you Tuesday 👊🎣
Thank bud 👍🏻
Got to be in it to win it 👍🏻 short sessions for any species can be productive
Definitely, always worth a dangle 🎣
Method/tactics seemed ok and you had a pick up which was encouraging....just keep at it 👍👍👍
Cheers mate, will be back for another go when the weather a bit milder 👍

Next time I’ll hopefully catch one!
@ will be good to see, unlucky on the miss take as well
@@LiamGoneFishin think it was a baby!
that canal can be moody at the best of times but when they are biting it can be brilliant.
I’ve heard a few people say the same 👍🏻

Kettles a sea to summit, it’s a mountaineering flat pack bit of kit. Great for mobile fishing! Have a mug that goes with it too 👌

I’d love to catch a double figure zander 🤞🏻

I’ve had them to about 8lb, be nice to catch a double one day 🤞🏻
Whats the bag you use for the rods and net? That will be perfect for my zed trips.👌
It’s the Prologic Element compact sling mat. Great bit of kit and perfect for this type of fishing 🎣
Need to get on the severn or the tewkesbury Avon some monsters up them parts
Will give it a go 👊🏼👍🏻
Back leads do the trick to avoid the boats 👍🏻
Would never use a backlead when predator fishing, a backleed would add resistance, also delays the bite.
@@TheFishingBloggers fair point mate, you know better than me when it comes to predator fishing 👍🏻
@@andywhalley3669 it’s easier just to hold the tip down, canal boats sit high in the water anyway.
I'm off on Monday to go and find some zander
Hope you’re luckier than me!
@@TheFishingBloggers Hopefully, But that's fishing for you! I would rather be fishing then working TIGHT LINES.
@@MoresGOfishing too right 👊🏼👍🏻
All a bit predator for me👍🙄
😂😂

Introduced in 1878 (from Germany) and stocked into Woburn Abbey, they spread to the Fens and eventually all around the country!
Not all about the fish mate. :)
Very true 👍🏻
The colour of the water 🥶👎
Exactly, not ideal conditions 😢
