Great video again Shaun, congrats on you pb roach, good angling mate 👍 When fishing that style, always put your rod on the rests, and when filling feeder always keep a bend in the rod tip. Catch the feeder in your hand, and put bend in rod before putting it on the rests, this way you will not get any rod tip tangles and crack off's. Lighter rods do suit this method better. Keep up the good work buddy 👍
Yes keeping tension in the rod top when filling the feeder was one of the things I changed! It’s amazing that even though I’ve fished with feeders since the early days, I still forget the basics! 🤦🏼♂️ too much carp fishing! 😂
I was fishing opposite to you on this session. Missed the chance to chat to you both. Only noticed you both when I saw you chatting to cameras just as you were leaving. Nice roach. Was a hard 48 hr for me. Couple of small carp and a lot of bream.. tight lines.
i hooked a giant 3lb roach once but my brother decided to use the landing net as a way to nudge the fish round a snag and i lost it, and i never recovered from it
Personally, I feel they do. 30+ years of fishing has shown me that a softer rod absorbs the heads shakes of fish like roach. I’m sure what you’ve watched has their own evidence of their findings, but for me a softer rod is more efficient and protecting a hook hold. It depends of how someone ‘plays’ a fish, how you use the rod, how much pressure you apply, the angle of the rod during the battle etc. So many factors, never going to be the same for every person
I see alot of anglers that complain about bream being a pest...Which they can be... But try and a target big ten pound plus bream!.. Not yourself you were respecting the bream.
@@fishingsammystyle8682 Any mug can go to France, or Spain, and catch a 50lb+ carp. Or they can fish a heavily stocked commercial big carp water in the UK and do the same However, to catch a 2lb+ Roach is something special, and I'd rather catch one 2lb+ Roach than 100 50lb+ carp.
@@TheFishingBloggers I've seen two caught in a day by a carper, on 18mm boilies. The dumb coot didn't even know what he had. I weighed them, 3lb 2oz and 3lb 6oz. My pb is 3lb 1oz by design.
A 2lb roach is an old wise fish ...and many angler's will never catch, or even see 1 .
Nice video...good you show your methods as well 👍
To some it might not be a monster, but to me it is….now I need to track down a Goliath 3+ 😮

Hugh has a great session, will be out on Tuesday 👍
Lovely shearwater 👍🏻 and lovely roach! Might have to pop down soon for a roach or 2
It’s got some mega roach, just hard to get through to the bigger fish!
@ yea I bet! Had the same for carp 60/40 were bream! But a busy 48 hours
@@robsfishingadventures just use big baits, boilies only.
Good video
Thank you 🙏
Great video if any one could invent a anti bream bait they would be a millionaire over night again great video
I was happy to catch the bream, I don’t understand why anglers dislike them. It’s just frustrating trying to get through them to find the big roach!
Shamone 😊

That sounds unforgivable 😮
Soft rods dont actually stop hook pulls , i know its hard to believe but search it up on you tube quite crazy to be honest anyways great video 🎉

I agree, any specimen fish is special. I’ve had bream to just shy of 13lb and they are mega fish at that size!
3lber next.
Roach are much more difficult to catch than carp, especially if they're big.
100% a 3lb roach is a very special fish, hope to meet one 🤞
@TheFishingBloggers I know a spot. !
