I really like the romance line. In previous BioWare Games Romances are usually initiated by some dumb pick up line or straight up telling that you are interested. Which never fits with my Inquisitor/Shepard/etc. But this here is perfect. You are just making clear that you care about him and not some inappropriate comment at clearly the wrong time

I also hope the more personality driven dialogue wheels means we can romance the same characters and have the relationships feel different (since the game and characters take notes if your rook is more sarcastic, diplomatic, etc etc). Kinda like DA2.
Sadly that means no more "well bang ok" jokes dammit (jokes I defintly prefer this style and hope it's the entire romance stuff and not just a singular option that came off well)
I take it you like guys who are a mess and hopeless romantics? To each their own. Some girls also go for the Stockholm/Edward Cullen type. Some like guys like Varric, it's interesting however you put it.

@@Eiliestl honestly I don’t think it’s has much to do with people pleasing but just ensuring players can romance the character they want without having to reset their character. DA2 companions could be romance by either male or female Hawke so there are grounds to this. The BioWare team has been really selling DAV companions and letting everyone romance them probably helps player learn about the characters more
I couldn't decide whether to romance Devrin or Lucanis. After watching this, I've decided that Lucanis will be my first romance. I was immediately drawn to Lucanis and Spite's dynamic. They give me V and Silverhand vibes, and I love those two. I have a feeling Spite will grow on me like Elfroot, just like Johnny did. Silverhand was also an ass at the start and, by the end, became my favorite character.

Ive been playing through the Mass Effect trilogy and Lucanis’s flirt reminds me of Thane and how the flirting is less weird flirting at bad times and more of a genuine care for the other person

Unrelated, but I do hope that Bioware puts out the standalone character creator, so I can sink a few hundred hours into it prior to the game's release...

i have a sneaking suspicion that illario betrayed lucanis and caused him to get captured......but maybe that's too obvious of a plotline haha. either way excited to see more of the interactions between the cousins, i loved their chapter in tevinter nights!
Wait a minute. Lucanis is a mage to be possessed like this? The lore regarding demonic possessions clearly states that only mages are at risk for this (so templars, tranquil etc). So either Lucanis has magical potential, or this is yet another breach of the original lore.
So we have another companion who is under demonic possession (or maybe apothosus, not a word used I just think there should be s distinction between the likes of Lucanis and someone that is an Abomination.). Why do I get the feeling he is the one to betry us
Thank you for posting. I was curious about this particular companion. I read his story in Tevinter Nights and was intrigued by his background. Now I want to know where and how Spite came to be. Pretty sure that demon wasn't around in Tevinter Nights.

I feel like this Character would be more impactful if they had just brought back Zevran instead. They're similar in so many ways, almost 1 for 1 aside from the racial and mage killing aspects.

Zevran, Oghren, Wynne, and Shale are like mid-game, late-game at most and depending on your Hinterlands experience, Sera, Blackwall, and Vivienne, could be hours away or a dozen hours. Even in DA2 Fenris, Anders, and Isabela are at least a quarter through Act 1 which is dependent on side quests and money count so thats gonna take a hot minute.

Maybe quickly? We were able to get all of our companions in like 10 or 15 minutes in the past three games.
