I travel to a small community, Embreeville, which is about 8 miles from Jonesborough, Tennessee. This community is located in Washington County, TN. It was severely flooded by Hurricane Helene. The Nolichucky River rose to an extreme height causing enormous damage to houses, buildings, garages, carports and vehicles. #Hurricanehelene #storm #flood #tennessee #vlog #NolichuckyRiver #TennesseeArmyNationalGuard #embreeville #washingtoncountytennessee
Fun fact....that big brown 2-story house right there at the KOA campground.....thats the old Chuckey's trading post....former mexican restaurant/bar....thats where Kenny Chesney got his start by playing there on the weekends as he went to ETSU in johnson city. Me and my family used to go eat burritos and watch him play on the weekends....good ole memories! I have family there in bumpass cove that completely lost everything besides the clothes on their back....but everybody is coming together and helping one another.....im so proud to be from such a great area as around here! :)
Most of the people I met here are friendly. Thanks for the information. I like Kenny Chesney a lot. Who doesn't like the "Tin Man" song. Thanks for commenting and the important information. I really appreciate it.
Great job ! 👍 people just don't know how much damage it caused in that area !! Exactly where you were on Hwy 81 from there towards the Taylor Bridge , which is gone, all that land off Hwy 81 towards the river is so devastating!! So many houses along there and use to be a road name A.J. Willis Rd that runs close along the river from almost about where you were all the way to CrossRoads Gas Station back onto Hwy 81. That whole widespread area with many houses gone !! It is unbelievable with all that water with so much enormous damage !!! It is totally different being physically in area than watching it on video. You will feel the sadness !
I have experienced the same thing when I was camping in Hot Springs, NC. It rained several days and the river crested the roadways coming close to the trail where I was hiking and camping ⛺️. I walked out of the area as quickly as possible!
I I've about a mile going towards Erwin in the Deacon Creek area, I have never seen the Nolichucky do this, I knew the Toe and Cane Rivers in NC feeds into it but the amount of water that came down the mountain was so much more that I have ever seen....we didn't have electricity for almost 2 weeks.....but our home wasn't touched and I'm grateful for that....and what it did to Scott's Tomatoe fields, there are no words.....
Please stop bragging about jonesboro being the oldest town in tn. The last thing we want is more tourist, more ppl moving here from new england and the west coast pushing thier leftist ideals on us, causing housing to become unaffordable for most ppl who grew up here, property taxes to go up which causes products and services to go up, and trying to take over our local govs, bcz I've seen it happen in 2 other states I've lived in that are ruined now. It's bad enough that you could buy a 3bdrm/2bth 6-7yrs ago for a little more than $70k, now you can't hardly find one for less than $200k. I do hope the farms are ok there. That's where my family buys our bushels of veggies every yr for canning.
It's all over the internet like Google, travel agents, in tourism magazines, and on Microsoft Edge about Jonesborough, TN being the oldest town in Tennessee.
LOL. I know most of this area like the back of my hand. I have literally hiked almost every mountain and trail in Virginia, NC, Tennessee, Georgia, etc...
LOL! If you had watched his videos, he has uploading videos of him hiking through all of this area over the years. You are the one who is CLUELESS because you are wrong.
dude you sound like the kind of guy who likes to listen to his self talk / this is a truck the truck is upside down this is the bed on the truck this is the window on the truck look at the motorcycle it is a motorcycle look at the lawn mower it is a lawn mower look at the flashing light on the truck it is flashing and the old guy trying to start his truck instead of talking about it why not go help him it's sad anyone with a camera nowadays think they're a documentary movie maker I'll see a lot of people actually helping and I see you walk around talking I was in the guard and have been deployed on natural disasters and there's always that one guy that gets in the way what are you doing what are you doing what happened what are you doing and not one mention of where people can make donations not one mention of what people need sent to them not one mention of what you did to actually help the people besides make your little film when there's already a thousand out there
If you had already been watching his videos, you would know that he has donated his time, water, food and money to every town or city he has been. He also has asked people to donate and how to help in most of his recent uploads. Quit crying like a spoiled brat. I bet they discharged you from the National Guard so the enlisted people would not hear your negativity on a daily basis.

It is really shocking to actually see the destruction up close; It makes it personal. Thanks for hanging out with me. I enjoyed the company.
Thanks for the film
Thanks for viewing and commenting. I appreciated the company!
We were camping at the KOA one summer when the river started rising. I can’t believe how scary this was.
I have experienced the same thing when I was camping in Hot Springs, NC. It rained several days and the river crested the roadways coming close to the trail where I was hiking and camping ⛺️. I walked out of the area as quickly as possible!
I knew it was bad, but it still is difficult to believe just how much water went through there.
It is really bad in some areas!
@@BigOvlogger You ought to take a look at Allen's Bridge. The old farmhouse still stands, but water nearly got to the ceiling of the second floor.
