The first place you showed that you thought was some trailers is where I grew up. My papaw lived there and my aunt . This is the best video I’ve seen of the area.
At 35 second mark yrs 2 trailers use to set on that lot where you went either left towards lirtle germany or right past the cemetery to drive back towards the old landfield. I was just up in Bumpus cove the weekend before the flood driving my 4x4 truck 13 miles up on the forestry roads.
That's where one of my favourite You Tube stars came from, Hobo Shoestring, I miss him I'm glad in a way he's not here to see all this devastation he knew Erwin very well. ❤
@BigOvlogger I have lived in North Carolina for most of my life. I was born in Elizabethton. My family moved to north carolina when I was about 12 years old. I have relatives in Carter and Washington counties. My father was from unicoi
I saw them walk from one end of the community to the opposite end of the community. They did that several times. I did also and I was dehydrated and tired. They were making an effort to get the home owners help.
They were giving ppl letters explaining how to appeal your denial letter. My family hasn't heard from FEMA in over a month. They don't seem to be helping ppl to me.
@tikanni7251 ZYhe federal government definitely needs to put our citizens and people first. Thanks for commenting. Be sure to subscribe to my channel. Have a Super Sunday night!
People that collect scrape metel. Can come in with permission from land owner. Give them scrapes to clean it up. And price they get for it could be their pay for cleaning it up. Old trailers and under pending. And people who crush cars could give owners a price with owner ship of cars. After inc claims has been filed. That’s not much but it help with clean up some.
The Nolichucky River rose from three days of rain. After three days of rain, Hurricane Helene arrived when the landscape was already saturated from 3 days of HEAVY rain. The water from the rising river flooded the community.
I'm not sure people don't want to work for FEMA as much as FEMA only hires so many people. Further thier model seems to assume people will come to them at one of thier FEMA trailers AND supposedly they don't place a FEMA trailer where there isn't wifi service of some type.
Sir, I understand what you are doing, however, you really should not be trespassing on private property. The 'road' as you call it, isn't a road at all, it's going through people's yards. Please be respectful of private property. Some people may not care but others do care and don't want people on their property. There is way too much looting, even in the middle of the day, for random people to be strolling around where you don't belong.
First of all, I know who owns the property. I also know several people in this community. I stopped and talked to many of the residents. I also have been to Bumpus Cove many times and know several people who live in Bumpas Cove and Little Germany. I am no stranger to some people who live in this community.
Uh excuse me, those homes and yards are all gone. It's like going to N Carolina and telling someone to get off the river! Because the river is now covering all the land of ppl there. The river had gotten way wider. It has taken the land away. Where is the Tennessee Governor? That guy hasn't done 1 thing for that State! I have no idea what ppl there were thinking voting for the guy!
@@Liberty6010and9 unless you call sending the TN National Guard overseas right after the damage when they were busy in the Erwin area….great Governor we elected…he will be gone soon, though not soon enough for me.

Thanks for the footage. This just breaks my heart.😢
It is definitely devastating to see a community destroyed by a storm, winds or heavy rains causing rivers to overflow into residential neighborhoods.

You are absolutely correct.
In all the videos I've seen, I've only seen one vehicle moved; and that was by a citizen's crew. The owner was on site.
