Same, this line rolls of the tongue better and it's her realization that she can only move forward with her choice to stay instead of returning to the dull, provincial town she complained of...
Thank you so much for sharing this! Really wish they’d done (and released) a proshot of this production with this cast. This was my first musical and still a favorite.

Julia Lester sang this version, and relied on this line at 2:00. However, Hilary Maiberger (from the 2010 tour) and Christina Bianco (from the 2007 Stage Stars album) sang it right: And to think, I complained of that dull provincial town!
Funny thing: this was the original lyric for the world premiere in Houston. I think both lyrics work in the song. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
"But I know that I can't solve my problems going back" is the original line and the correct one, in my opinion.
@@QNCSFT The original line was what everyone relied on, and this one is for the official licensed version, and of course much better
