    Hi Guy! s
Wonderful to see you both deliver a great tutorial, with regard to touch I think its very important to first be able to play a song without having to look at written music. Know the song until playing it is natural and easy, then and only then are you able to put emotion into it, when you reach this point in your playing, it takes you to a new place. Its one thing to play a piece of music but its a magical experience to play it with feeling.
    Regards Ray

Beautiful touch and an empathy with the music. Wonderful to hear and see you play Kimo. The art of making it look so simple but the dedication you must have made to produce the tone you with the effortless grace is an inspiration.
A tutorial on Danny Boy would also be much appreciated but I know how busy you are.
    Thanks again
    Ben

Ben, thank you very much. I appreciate your feedback. I love your idea of a Danny Boy tutorial and I'll definitely get it in the queue. It would be a great way to address touch in a song that's easy to play. Thanks for your thought.

Thanks Kimo. I've been looking for a video that addresses this aspect of playing. It seems like one of the hardest things to master and understand, but you both have offered some valuable information. Would appreciate more videos on this subject.
    Many thanks.

Thank you, Ukeonio! Oftentimes the area creating music incorporating "subjective" ideas are just as powerful and effective as addressing strict technique. Such is the case with "touch" and we'll definitely be addressing this further.

Thanks, touch is what I love most about Ukulele, the way I strum and pick it different than a guitar and the way it feels different in my hands than other instruments.

      Kimo Hussey ok thank you
I feel like I am doing some online lessons but not really understanding
Theory of music or melodies .
Any suggestions ? My brain has a hard time grasping the music scales & Im just mainly learning basic chords & some songs with 3-4 chords .

You're a beginner and you're doing great. Where do you live? I travel a lot and would love to come share some ukulele with you whenever the schedule cooperates. Online lessons leave a lot to be desired but are certainly much better than no lessons at all. Let me know how I can help.@@Kwood10

I love Kimos touch. The more I listen the closer my face got to the phone. I don’t like a lot of the strumming scratchy stuff it seems ta kill the tone.

Hello, Tenis! The very best way to familiarize yourself with "touch" is to use it. It is a right (strumming hand) hand technique and your best judge are your ears. Trust your instincts when you strum or pick something to tell you how best to improve what you're hearing. It's amazingly simple yet so effective in playing "legato".

Kimo Hussey thank you, i realy enjoy playing and try to listen as i play, when im by myself. Somehow i never can play as good, or listen so closely when there are more people around or when playing with someone. I wonder if you have spoken about this in some of your videos?

    • @KimoHusseyUkulele
      @KimoHusseyUkulele  8 ปีที่แล้ว

I don't remember speaking directly about this but understand what you mention ----- and I certainly agree about having some alone time to commune directly with music and the instrument. You're on a good track, Tenis, keep going.
