Emotive is a good word for what you are describing. I love this emphasis. I haven’t really heard other instructors talk about this. But it’s really at the heart of what makes music interesting to listen to, unless the listener is a technique geek.

I live in Europe in belgium in Charleroi a town near brussel, I m 61 years old and I usually play guitar but I m interrested since two month in playing ukululu and like very much the sound you have created with your technique, and my goal is to use your technique to play the gospel music in my church I ve already manage to play amazing grace but I have not got the feeling in the sound I have to improvr it. thank again for your great teaching excuse me for my poor english. Exellent teaching and very beautiful technique but I don't understand the right hand, have you tab for this piece of music in order to better understand when to place the pitch combined with the strum patern.? Thank you so much kimo.
Sorry, Joe, I've always been way too lazy to do tabs. But yours is a great question. My suggestion is first to focus strictly on the melody, not the chords, and do this until the melody flows effortlessly. Then fill in with the chords as you PREFER. Where do you live?
