- Oliver Reed, the British actor, holds a distinguished position among history's legendary drinkers for his remarkable alcohol consumption and the extravagant lifestyle he embraced in pursuit of his love for drink. While history boasts numerous noteworthy imbibers, Reed stands out as a truly singular individual.
He was a great actor. Fantastic screen presence….
A true Legend of Life was Ollie. Moon, O'Toole, Harris and Burton together, what a Party that would've been.

Get ahold of the book " Hellraisers" which tells tales of those very actors' drunken escapades over their careers. ( except Moon of course) they were unbelievable!!! The book goes on to highlight a few famous actresses with heavy drinking problems. Liz Taylor was 1 of them. U learn new things every day.
He was the best Bill Sykes... part of what made the movie "Oliver" so enjoyable!👍

I had the pleasure of meeting ollie many years ago, he walked into a bar in dublin city called regans pub he sat and joked and bought two rounds of drink for everyone in the bar he was so down to earth and funny and when he was walking out he stook 20 pounds in the breast pocket of an elderly man and said have a pint on me young man, that was 3 days of drinking 20 pounds back then,r.i.p Oliver reed u gentleman and legend ❤
Brilliantly talented actor without question. So sad he couldn't control his enjoyable bottled companion.
lol apparently
Oli you are and will be sadly missed you were a great acter .
He sure was 🙌 which other lengend would you like us to cover ??
How ridiculous that mr. Reeds movie "Devils" from 1971 and a true story that happened in the 1500's , is still banned. There have been copies avail that were hugely cut. I think we are mature enough to see this controversial true story.

I saw that…it was shocking…
But not as shocking as the true Hell I would confidential predict....@@andrewbutcher3391
One grand, dashing rake ! 👍🇬🇧😉
👌
Amazing the number of actors (and actresses) who were superb in the job became alchoholics...
True
A person of many layers (as are we all). Two of my friends' Dads have met Ollie and one said Ollie was always pissed in his company and the other of my friend's Dads met Oliver at a party and said Oliver was very polite and kind. Still, a great actor Ollie was and always convincing.

@@ALegendsLegacy-45 and thank you for posting the video 📹 😀
The first Musketeer film was cut into two to make two films . He and other actors was only paid for one of the films . Then of course they made the 3rd musketeer film .

I find this so sad. An incredible actor, and when sober, such an articulate conversationalist. But when drunk, he was an awful & objectionable person. Such a waste. We all have faults and I look back with fondness on his work, but I imagine there are lots of folk who endured appalling behavior from him. What a dichotomy.

Great actor and character sadly missed
Great actor, greater drinker! Sad end. I went to The Pub in Malta (just before he died) and to his grave in Butte in County Cork in Ireland. Respect to you, Ollie.
I think the Man was cool as hell. great movies

Please elaborate on "a pub crawl that culminated in Reed's unfortunate encounter with McQueen's attire"
Not sure Ollie was an alcoholic. He liked a drink. Do alcoholic’s turn up for work on time and put in a great performance? Not sure they do.but Ollie did. In fact as a film actor he was a consummate professional.

Ollie's remarks about feminism were not controversial.
