Ward was a real talent, but as far as likability was concerned had something to be desired..Hannah, O'Mara, Bailey were not as consistent, but Gods amongst the masses..
Greg Maggio Ward seemed to suffer from typical "little man" syndrome, he surely was a cocky little bastard. Of course, Hannah is cocky too but also has the ability to laugh at himself and not take himself quite so seriously, makes all the difference
At 6:12 when you lay it down you should wait till the approaching bikes pass because a friend of mine Mickey Sanders ended up in a wheelchair. hes dead now Watsonville fairgrounds, Omera went down jump on the bike. Wait
I am honored that only my comment was spared from the "you-tube comment holocaust" across this great land. Thank you oh great gooooogal, --for sparing my digital, meaningless life. I owe it all---to you.
reemo I've been watching these '80's super cross races for the past couple of weeks and noticed an event that summed up the difference between Ward and these other guys. In one event- I forget which one- Ward gets tangled up with another rider and goes down. Nothing purposeful and no ones fault, simply an accident, and Ward just walks off the track and quits. He's not hurt, the bike's not hurt, he simply gave up. About a lap later I guess his team manager and mechanic must have talked some sense into him and he got back out there, but it shows the attitude of the guy. In contrast, how many times have you seen Hannah, Glover, RJ, etc crash and jump right back up and work their way back up through the pack, that takes real heart
Went, still have the ticket stub. 2 stroke exhaust hung heavy in the Kingdome that weekend!
The best channel!!! Right this names are so big like Carmichel , McGrath, but they are fighting together!!
I wonder how the four bangers would fare on a track layout from these days?

Superbe 👍
Wardy wins his first SX main, and pops a bottle of campaign. Traditional celebration is not allowed anymore. :(

Tracks look awkward to ride.
They were alot more technical compared to todays cookie cutter tracks of today .
Worst announcer in history
I think he's the best! Love his descriptions and enthusiasm!
Terrible announcing
I think Huffman is awesome! Love his descriptions and his excitement!
Never liked Ward. Its funny today how Jeff Ward moto memorabilia is worth so much less than other riders like RJ, Hannah, and Omara.
